Waltzing with my Darling

Well the big panic is on to try and get ready for Christmas.... I don't know why but I always leave everything until the last minute... I really don't have a lot of time to stamp and play - but one of my favourite challenges at Splitcoast Stampers is the Featured Stamper challenge...
Brenda (aka Benzi) is being honoured today. Here is the cute card of her's that I cased "Fabric kind of morning".
I received that fun image from Pat Smethers - (Art Impressions). I water coloured the image, stamped on the grass (Stampin Up - Water colour Mini), matted image with more mustard and black. The plaid background is a piece of flannel, I taped it onto card stock and the stitched edges. Wrapped raffia around two corners and attached the gingham brads. I added the black panel behind the image, plus tilted my image, placed feathers behind image panel.
I will be giving this card to my dear Husband for our Anniversary at the end of the month.

Thanks for stopping by,
Happy creating,

Have a Totally Fun Birthday

I just love this little girl (Willameana) image from TOTALLY STAMPALICIOUS. I combined today's colour challenge from Splitcoast Stampers CC249 (Mambo Mellon (regal rose), Mellow Moss, So Saffron and Nuetrals of Choice) - Plus the desert option was to use Polka Dots (big dots, itty bitty dots or any dots inbetween). I was thrilled when Betty Wright asked me to make a Sample for today's challenge - Thanks Betty.
For this weeks challenge over at Totally Stampalicious Blog- use Buttons. I used an teeny tiny triangle button for the zipper pull on her PJ's. I just love her expression - she reminds me so much of one of my Grand daughters :)
I stamped the image four times. Base image, on the pink and green dp, on the Mambo Mellon dp and once again on Bristol Vellum (for her head). Water coloured her skin - the rest I coloured with Prisma Colour pencil crayons and gamsol. Paper pieced her pj's, hair band, collar and zipper. Sewed on the button. Popped up her head just a little bit - for more dimension. Stamped her teddy bear on So saffron, colour paws, tummy, patch and face. Cut out the circles with Nestabilities. I love the big bold polka dotted dp. Added stitckles to the outside of the big circles, her head band, Teddy bear patches and candle flames. Sewed edges of base card and large circle. Pierced holes in smaller circle and used white gel pen - faux stitched. Dotted scallops on large circle to match the DP. Willamena and candle panel are popped up.

Thanks for stopping in.
Happy Creating,

THINK SNOW

Happy Tuesday everyone... I combined two challenges today.. Splitcoast Stampers Colour challenge - to use Always Artichoke, Rich Razzleberry and Barely Banana, plus today's Teapot Tuesday Inspiration Challenge. Here is a picture of the teapot. Lisa Lara is our Teapot Tuesday Hostess - here is her story and adorable card.

I had purchased a Teapot magnet at Michael's a couple of weeks ago. I traced the teapot onto two different papers. Layered the lightest one over top, omitting the spout and handle. I cut the '
top off the teapot. Made the bottom checkered strip. Stamped, coloured and cut out my little snowman (Inkadinkado). I liked having his scarf hang over the lip of the teapot.
Ran the white panel through the Cuttlebug. I ran an extra strip through and tore into three pieces. layered at bottom of white square. Matted with AA and RR. Sewed edges. Placed the teapot and snowman on top. Glued on the sentiment and little pompom snowballs. Added stickles to the raised dots and top of sentiment. The base card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. Designer paper is from Me and My Big Ideas - Noel.

My little snowman is hiding in his huge teapot fort, waiting for unsuspecting snowpeople or maybe some tipsy teapotters to come along... :)

Happy Stamping and Creating.

HMF#56 - America's card kit challenge

Happy House Mouse Monday everyone... For this weeks HM challenge, the very talented America sent the DT members a CARD KIT full of brown and cream papers, textured papers, flourish die cuts, pearls, charms, bling, ribbon and silver cording. We were to make a card using as much or as little as we wanted from the kit, and to use our own tools and colouring mediums. She did ask us to use at least one of the adorable mouse charms.

As it would be impossible to send you all a kit we would like you to have a look at what America sent us and try to reproduce the kit. But not to worry if it is not exactly the same or even if you only have a few items that you can use.

Plus there is a fabulous prize this week from HOUSE MOUSE DESIGNS. A $25.00 gift voucher. Please see the rules on the side bar on the House Mouse Monday Challenge blog for your chance to win.

Plus - America has a small prize she is offering up.. A Baggie full of Silver Beautiful Adorable Quality Charms... Check out her blog for more details..

Below is a picture of the card kit.

Below is what I came up with. I believe I made one itty bitty mistake - I used a Martha Stewart mouse border on the top of my card... I had just purchased this punch and wanted to use it. After I assembled and glued my card together I reread the rules... sorry America :(

I made an Easel style card... you can find directions here and here. I coloured this sweet House Mouse image "Pumpkin Pie" with Prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol. Clear embossed the chocolate pie, applied white liquid applique to the top for the whip cream... I cut out the image and layered it over top base image. I drew in the wall paneling lines and base boards. Sponged edges. I cut the polka dot dp, brown and cream textured papers into 1 1/2" squares. Next I cut the brown and white squares into triangles and made my background patterns. The squares were layered over a 5 1/4" brown square and sewed on. I layered the cream and brown flourishes. Assembled main Easel panel. Added the pearls to the flourish and image panel. Made the sentiment panel. Made the bow with chocolate ribbon and silver cording. Tied on the adorable mouse charm.... Thank you America for the wonderful card kit... there is so much left over to make a few more cards from all those yummy goodies and the extra charms...

Please hop on over to House Mouse and Friends and check out what the other talented DT members came up with from America's card kit... And we can't wait to see what you come up with....

This also qualifies for the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge - to make an Easel card...

Sent with Love

On Splitcoast Stampers - today's Limited Supply Challenge LSC244 was to make a card from the weather you were having today... Plus there was a 2/2/2 challenge - I used two different designer papers, two different embossing technique - heat and dry, plus two different types of stitching - maybe I get bonus points for two different ribbon treatments :) Well, here at home it is raining cats and dogs.... So this cute little House Mouse image (Special Delivery) was perfect for today's challenge. I also used this weeks sketch challenge SC252 for my layout. I coloured the image with Prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. Clear embossed the rain drops, added Diamond Stickles to the poppies.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone.... here is a fun Clean and Simple card I made - this weeks Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers was to use brads or eyelets on your card. As you can see I used star eyelets on the base card, I wove black embroidery thread through the eyelets to make a frame. I stamped the Jailbirds onto white card stock and then again on More mustard. Cut out the MM birds and popped up over white panel. Drew the thin black frame around birds and attached mini black brads. Used Martha Stewart border Punch on the black and more mustard mats. Added the black spider embellishment. Striped paper is from My Minds Eye.

Happy Halloween.
Hugs...

Magnolia - Thank You

I made this card for Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper challenge. Lois Bak was Featured Stamper #FS139. Here is the adorable card that I cased "Willow and Flower Basket".
This card was made while I was on Holidays in Montana. I had very limited supplies with me, lucky me I had already coloured this sweet Magnolia image.... Matted image with Really Rust and Taken with Teal. Hand stitched around edges. Striped DP is from Recollections Fall collection. Sewed on button embellishments.

A Christmas Postcard

Here is another card I made for the Splitcoast Stampers November VSN challenge - this one was "masking" and to make it a one layer card. I used the Tope Note die cut and placed it in the middle of my card and sponged around the edges to give it the red frame. Next I stamped on the reindeer. Masked the reindeer and stamped on the trees. Coloured the reindeer. Stamped on the Postage stamp. Applied white liquid applique for snow....

Recipe:

Stamps - Lovely as a tree, Winter Post, Magenta - reindeer
Paper - white
Ink - Riding hood red, creamy caramel, stazon jet black, old olive, black, chocolate chip
Accessories - Cuttlebug, Top Note, Liquid Applique, post it note, sponge, aquapainter.

House Mouse - Merry Christmas

Happy Thursday.... I'm a little late uploading some of my cards... it's been a busy week for me.
I made this last weekend for the Splitcoast Stampers VSN November challenges. The challenge was to make an acetate stamped overlay. Something to enhance but not hide your image.
The adorable House Mouse image " Peppermint Pals" was coloured with prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. I stamped the sentiment "Merry Christmas" and the snowflakes using Stazon Cotton white. Attached with white mini brads.

Thanks for stopping in.

House Mouse Challenge #55 - Aperture Card

Happy House Mouse Monday everyone... the very talented Heather has issued this weeks challenge - to make an APERTURE CARD - a card with a hole in it. I made a Tri-fold card - there is a wonderful tutorial on how to make this card at Splitcoast Stampers - here is the link to the tutorial.

This week we have a sponsor KLM DESIGNS (digi Stamps) - the lucky winner can choose up to 3 images from the site.

Below is my take on the challenge......

Below is the trifold card when open.

I stamped the sweet House Mouse image - (Feathered Friends) on whisper white paper with Stazon jet black ink. Coloured image with prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol. Masked image and sponged on the clouds. Used plain circle nestabilty to cut out image. Matted image with scalloped Almost Amethyst circle. I made the Elegant Eggplant tri fold base card. Cut out the circle in the middle panel. The designer paper I used is called "Wisteria" from Basic Grey. Matted DP with Almost Amethyst. Sewed edges. Cut out the circle in DP panel with Nestability. I cut another scalloped circle with Elegant Eggplant and then cut out the middle circle to make my scalloped frame. Pierced holes in scallop. Used the Sizzlet leaf die to make my Old olive leaves. Sewed on the lavender and purple buttons. I made the inside panel and sewed on. Stamped on sentiment. Used the slit punch to make the tab and sewed on the green button.
I hope you can join us over at House Mouse and Friends. I would love to see what you come up with. Make sure to use at least one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image on your card or project. Please check out what the other very talented DT members have come up with to inspire you.
