A Heartfelt Thanks

A happy, snowy Wednesday to you. It's been a long time since I have posted anything on my Blog. I thought it was time that I did so. I made this Quilted Heart card for my mother-in-law "Sharron" as a Thank-you to her, for helping me finish my "Tyler Quilt". I have been working on this quilt for over two years now.
The sentiment is from Stampin-Up's "Quilt Quip" set. The faux stitched triangle and squares on the heart quilt are from Clear Dollar Stamps "Build a Quilt" set. I saw this gorgeous Scrap Quilt card by Lisa Lara and I new I wanted to purchase the Build a Quilt set.

I used this weeks colour challenge from Splitcoast Stampers as my colour combination (Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red and neutrals of choice -white, vanilla, brown or black)

When Life throws you Scraps

Hello... just wanted to show you this fun quilt designed card I made for yesterday's colour challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. Challenge colours - soft suede, elegant eggplant, riding hood red, neutrals - ivory, white or black. My fun Stella image is from Bugaboo Stamps, this one is from the Stella Sewing digital images. I coloured the image with Tombow and Stampin up markers. I cut out 3 different designer papers in 1" squares and stuck them down on a piece of card stock. Used the Topnote die for the shape. Sewed all designer papers together with zig zag stitch. Sponged edges with Stazon Violet. Matted image with purple card stock and sewed around image. Sewed on the three buttons. Stamped the sentiment (from Stampin Ups Quilt Quips set) on the soft suede card stock and then ran it through the Cuttlebug with Divine swirl folder. Matted with purple. I tore a strip of purple card stock and taped it to the bottom of the card - I had stamped the sentiment up to far and it didn't look right. So I felt that it needed something at the bottom to even it out. I am very pleased with how this turned out.

FS206, When life throws you scraps, make a QUILT

Today is one of my favourite challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers - the Featured Stamper Challenge. The FS206 for today is Tracy Schulz (aka "whoistracy"). I cased this beautiful card
"Stitched Stocking". Tracy has many quilt themed cards in her gallery. I had to case one of those - as I love sewing on my cards and have many quilters in my family.

The fun image I used is from Bugaboo Stamps and it is called "Stellasew Bobbin head".
Image was printed on white card stock using my Laser printer. Coloured with Tombow and Stampin Up markers. Designer paper is from Recollection - Autumn Pack. Sentiment is from Stampin Up "Quilt Quips". I tore a strip of flannel plaid fabric to make my Bow.

Quilted Cards - May your bobbin always be full and Howdy There Miss Kitty

Happy Tuesday everyone... I have two cards to share with you. The green quilted "log cabin block" with the Handsome cowboy in the middle (my oldest son Kyle) I made for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge, Splitcoast Stampers Monday Technique challenge to make a card with a quilt block design and today's SCS colour challenge - certainly celery, handsome hunter, Bermuda bay and the desert option - pink (anything other than pink card stock).

The story line for the Teapot Tuesday challenge is - We are off to Dodge City - What is wrong with Miss Kitty? Check out the story here and Mothermarks Blog - This is my Story.

I used the Maple Leaf quilt block design to make the card below. I made it look like a wall hanging. The sentiment is from Stampin Up - "Quilt Quips".

Thanks for stopping by,
Happy Stamping and creating.

Hello

I combined two Splitcoast Stampers Challenges - Ways to Use it (patches) and the Limited Supply Challenge - to make a girly girl card but you could used no designer paper unless you made it yourself. Tied on the sentiment tag.

Paper - Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, Non SU pink, water colour, white

Ink - Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, Stazon Jet Black

Accessories - Cuttlebug, Tag die cut, ribbon, heat gun, sewing machine, Prisma colour pencil crayons, gamsol, blending stumps, foam pop dots
