HM challenge #43 - a sketch

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Over at my house, we combined two birthday's, my youngest son, Guy's 25th and my brother Mark's 50th. We had approximately 40 people to help celebrate their birthdays. And on Sunday we celebrated Father's Day.



Over at House Mouse and Friends - our challenge today is from Jeanette at 2redbanana's . She has made a great sketch for use, plus the DT at 2redbananas are joining us. Here is my take on the challenge. I made this card for my son's (Guy) 25th birthday... He loves his pizza and pop... this was the perfect image to use for him. This image is a rak from Pat Smether's (one of the sweetest people I know). I water coloured the image with Stampin Up reinkers, clear embossed his eye, nose and pop can.

Paper: water colour, chocolate chip, kraft,

Ink: stazon jet black, blush blossom, chocolate chip, creamy caramel, real red, bravo burgundy, barley banana, more mustard, apricot appeal

Accessories: sewing machine, cuttlebug, plain and scalloped circle nestabilities, circle punch, sponge, aquapainter, pop dots, heat gun, clear embossing powder, brads. piercing tool.

House Mouse #25 Challenge - a sketch from 2 red bananas

Good morning.... As I am very new to blogging - please forgive any mistakes I make.

A few weeks ago House Mouse & Friends were looking for two new design team members. I was encouraged to try out for one of these spots. While I was checking the House Mouse blog on February 11th I noticed my name along with the very talented ladies Rica and Jami Bova picked to fill these spots. I was so excited and scared at the same time. I called out to my husband (Rob) - come and look at this !!! as I was jumping up and down.... Having this honor has pushed me out of my comfort zone..... Now I am blogging and on a design team - wow.... it is all good - Right!!!!

2 red bananas AND they are donating a wonderfully sweet prize - PLUS their own DT will be joining in on the sketch challenge to show us even more beautiful cards to look at.

Here is my first design team challenge card -

The main House Mouse image "Mouse Bounce" from Stampabilities #HMI101, was stamped twice on whisper white. I water coloured both images with Stampin up reinkers. The bottom image was cut out using nestabilities. I reverse masked the image and then sponged on regal rose, apricot appeal and chocolate chip, then I ran it through the cuttlebug with the swiss dot embossing folder to give it texture. I versa marked and clear embossed the thimbles. Cut out the image and popped them up. Matted with pink circle and chocolate chip scalloped circle. Main card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" white, next is pink, then swiss dot embossed chocolate chip. The diamond and striped designer papers are from Making Memories. I really liked the happy spring colours - I thought they went well with the fun image. The diamond panel is matted with white and pink. I sewed all the white lines to add texture. Bottom striped panel is matted with white and pink. I made the shrinky-dink sentiment embellishment a couple of years ago. Tied on the white and pink sheer ribbon and embellishment. All edges were stitched. I hope you like my first DT creation.
