This Eggs For You

Happy Monday everyone.... I am so happy to be finally playing with my House Mouse images again and making a card in honour of my sweet Splitcoast Stampers friend "Pat Smethers" - she was chosen on Saturday to be "Queen for the Day". We were to case one of her cards - it is kind of intimidating because she makes the most beautiful cards. I cased this adorable card "Tea for Lindsay" . She used a super cute House Mouse image on her card - she loves her HM images. I wanted to use one on mine as well. I chose to make an Easter card - this works for the challenge over at House Mouse and Friends - Easter theme. It has been awhile since I coloured up a House Mouse image and I do so love to colour them.
Another challenge at Splitcoast Stampers - today's Technique challenge was to finish the inside of your card... I try to do this when I've finished the card - but most times it doesn't happen. I must try to complete the card - inside and out - then it is ready to use... The fan club theme this month is "All creatures great and small"... Well my little old House Mouse is perfect for their challenge.... :)

Road Hawg and Hanna's Adventure

Below is the inside of my card - I finished the inside of card for today's technique challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers - to finish inside of your card. Most people only do the outside and then are scrambling to finish the inside when the special occasion occurs... I know I am that way.

This weeks challenge at TOTALLY STAMPALICIOUS is to use any Totally Stampalicious stamp or digi image. If you do not have one there is a FREE digi coffee mug image from the "Coffee Brawd" set for you to use on your card or project. Please make sure to check out what the DT have come up with to inspire you. And there is a Totally Stampalicious DT call - make sure to check it out - you could be the next Guest designer.
On my card I used the biker Hawg, big puffy clouds and the sentiment in the lower left corner from the Totally Stampalicious "Road Hawg" set. I paired him up with biker Hanna from Hanna stamps Route 66 set. The sentiment in the right hand corner "Escape - Adventure" is from Scrappy Cat. I created a desert scene for them to ride through. I loved driving and riding in Utah - love, love, love the red rocks and desert. I coloured the images with prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol and water coloured in the sky and clouds. Clear embossed the red parts of the motor cycle and Hanna's hat. Sponged edges with black ink. Sewed image panel to black base card.
I completed the inside of the card as well. The Adobe houses are from My Heart Stamps for you - Southwest set. The mesa and gecko are from Hanna Stamps - Route 66 and the Journey - Vacation sentiment is from Scrappy Cat. I left room on the left side to add my sentiment.

P.S... this could be a picture of my dear husband Rob and I riding our motorcycles through
the southwest USA.

Added diamond stickles to the flowers, butterfly and patch on the ribbon. Gingersnap background was embossed with the Cuttlebug "Tiny Mosaic" folder. I sponged the edges of the image panel with Stazon Purple, matted with eggplant, old olive and barely banana card stock. Take it Easy - it's your day

Hello everyone... Here is a card I made for today's featured stamper and last weeks Queen for the Day - Cathy aka "Mutnik" over at Splitcoast Stampers. We are to pick a card or project and case it - but you have to change at least two things... I changed the image and sewed on my card. I kept the same theme... Here is Cathy's card that I cased "hang in there". Check out Cathy's amazing gallery... so full of her wonderful works of art.
I just purchased this adorable Penny Black image "uplifting occasion" last week - this was the perfect occasion to use it.... The kitten and clothes are from the Penny Black stamp. Images were water coloured with Stampin Up reinkers. I created the scene behind them... Stamped on the cow and pig, sponged in the sky and grass. I stamped the fence, and cut it out with an exacto knife. I cut the clothes off the clothes line and sewed on the string, popped up the clothes. Stamped the sentiment (Studio G), cut it out, sponged edges and placed on card. I made the checkered border, that is one of Cathy's trade mark frames she used on many of her cards.

This card also works for CRAZY FOR CHALLENGES #C4C29 - To make a spring card.. I think mine has a spring feel to it, butterflies, clothes and a kitty on the line, pretty flowers in the field..

Happy Tuesday everyone... I combined four challenges in this one card. Three challenges from Splitcoast Stampers - colour challenge (old olive, rich razzleberry and orchid opulence), Technique challenge - Dp by me - I made the high healed shoe bg, Teapot Tuesdays challenge - Flat Footed Bobby Ruby - read about it here. I used the sketch design from Stamp TV #STVSCVD02 .
The chick is from Penny Black (there are actually four chicks on the stamp - I used only one). Coloured the chick with prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. Cut out the chick and layered over the white square panel. I stamped on water colour mini flowers from Stampin Up. Sponged plum chalk ink around image. Clear embossed the drink and earrings. Matted image with old olive and a scalloped RR square. Pierced holes in scallops. Stamped the high heeled shoes (Studio G) onto plain pale plum dp. Coloured the shoes and dotted them with a black marker. Sponged edge of dp. Matted with Rich Razzleberry card stock. Attached the ribbon. Sewed edges. Made the corner tabs for the image panel. Thinking of You

Here's another card that I made today. Splitcoast Stampers technique challenge was to make your own Designer Paper and the Clean and Simple challenge was to use Green and Brown. I used the sketch from Bugaboo Stamps Blog. This also qualifies for Crazy 4 Challenges challenge - to make a masculine card.

I stamped the white bg panel with the Sanded and Canvas backgrounder stamps in chocolate chip. The old olive leaves were randomly stamped and the edges were sponged with chocolate chip. Matted the panel with chocolate chip and sewed around card. The tree image was stamped in Stazon timber brown and water coloured with Stampin Up reinkers. Sponged edges and matted image. Stamped leaves onto the old olive strip. Punched out scalloped strip. Sewed all edges. Stamped on sentiment (from Bird on a Branch) in chocolate chip, attached the three corner brads.

You haven't had enough coffee until ----

Here is my card for Our Creative Corners colour challenge - to use yellow, pink, green and brown. Also for today's Feature Stamper challenge FS162 over at Splitcoast Stampers. Kristen aka "mommylvs2stamp" is today's FS. Here is the cute, yummy card of hers that I cased called "Bakery Window". The mugs are from the newly released stamp set "Coffee Brawd" from Totally Stampalicious, plus I used the words from a sentiment in that same stamp set. I redid the sentiment on my computer to fit my card layout. This new stamp set has so many fun sayings and I love the Coffee Brawd image....

I stamped the mug onto three different patterned papers (DCWV - Sweet Matstack and Mary Engelbreigt DP) and cut them out. Coloured the base and rim with chocolate chip SU marker. Punched out a SU scalloped border strip and sewed on my sentiment. Attached the coffee cups with jump rings. The pink buttons were attached with mini white brads.

Base card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 acrylic paper. I cut a piece of the striped dp (Cloud 9 Design - Baby Girl Stripe) and used the SU ticket corner punch. Sponged edges with chocolate chip. Matted panel with chocolate chip.Attached the mini white brads to the corners. I cut a 2 1/2" piece of white acrylic paper and matted it with CC. Placed over Dp panel and sewed lines across white panel. Placed the sentiment and mugs over top. Mugs are popped up and is the main DP panel. Applied gold stickles to dp.

I made a coaster box. My "Coffee Brawd" images are Digi images. Coloured with Prisma Colour pencil crayons and gamsol. I purchased some coasters at Michael's ($1.50). Covered both sides of the coasters, used my large corner rounder - perfect match with the coasters - punched the corners before adhering. Punched holes with crop-o-dile. Ovals were cut using Spellbinders. I sanded the edge of the brown oval. Placed Coffee Brawd on oval and adhered to coaster box. Tied coasters together. Here is a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers to make the coaster boxes. I put some fine wood fibers in the bottom of the box. Bagged up some coffee beans, tied on the ribbon and "Espresso Yourself" tag.

Below is the second project I made - I altered the coil bound journal using this fun stamp set.
Here is a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers on how to alter and cover the journal/notebook.

I used the digi images for this - I used the coffee cup, cropped Coffee Brawd and the sentiment to fit inside the mug. Image was coloured with Prisma Colour pencil crayons and gamsol... I recover the inside and outside of the book... I am very pleased with how both of these projects turned out... I have lots of ideas for this fun stamp set...
