HM&F #48 - a Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday to all you House Mouse & Friends Lovers... Today's challenge is a SKETCH - given by our very own Emma . Have fun with the sketch, just remember to use at least one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image.

Sassy Crafts will be sending one luck person chosen at random a lucky dip bag of goodies.

Here is my take on the challenge. The cute stamp I used is from Stampabilities - House-Mouse Designs - called "Donut Bliss" featuring Muzzy. I stamped the image on Whisper white using Stazon Jet Black Ink.. I coloured the image with Prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol. Image was cut out with Nestability Labels II folder, matted with chocolate chip Nesty scalloped square. Sewed edges, pierced holes, added Diamond Stickles to the donut icing and pierced holes. Tied on the pink sheer ribbon to the silver butterfly charm (looks like antenna's). Main card is 5 1/2 x 51/2 White card stock. The text and polka dot designer paper is from DCWC Safari Kids Stack. Matted all panels with chocolate chip, sewed all edges. Added the brown satin and pink/brown ribbon. Stamped sentiment on vellum and cut out with oval Nestability. Attached sentiment with mini pink brads. Popped up image panel.
This also qualifies for last weeks Ways to Use it challenge WT228 on Splitcoast stampers - to use a charm on your card/project (butterfly charm).

Well I have been stamping for a good part of today... I love Splitcoast Stampers Blog .. and the Featured Stamper Challenge is one of my favourite challenges. Today was a bonus day because Lori Barnett is today's FS129... She and I are on the House Mouse and Friends Design Team... plus I love Lori's work and she is such a sweet, fun lady... Check out her Blog "Stamp Scents".
I have made three cards in Lori's honour.

For the card below - the image is a RAK I received from Sue (aka coffeestamper on SCS) - It is from American Art Stamps - called "Margarita". Here is the card that I cased, called "Do the Math". I love this humours card of her's.

Below is the second card I made - here is the sweet card I cased "Little yellow Giraffe".
I also combined six SCS Dirty Girl challenges in this card - Cindy Haffners sketch, BevMoms - sewing, Lauraly's - Tie one on - Ribbon, Craftycaro - anything but average - my card is 5x5,
Deborah Lynnes - Taken with texture, PickleTrees - born to be wild (giraffe), Becca Stamps, punches and die cuts.
My adorable giraffe stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamps - call Patchpal Giraffe. I stamped image with stazon jet black ink and water coloured using Stampin Up Reinkers. I pleated and sewed the ribbon for the vertical and horizontal strips. Used Nestabilites to cut the plain and scalloped circles and for the scalloped corners. I sewed the x's on the giraffe's cheeks.

Below is the first card I cased of Lori's. I just love these adorable House Mouse images. This imase is called "Sweet Music". Here is the darling card I cased "House Mouse Christmas Love".
Image was stamped on water colour paper using Stazon jet black ink and water coloured with Stampin Up reinkers. I clear embossed the candy cane and trumpet. This card also qualifies for last weeks SCS Ways to Use it challenge WT228 - use charms. The "Celebrate" sentiment is a pewter charm.

The girls were off to Paris to watch the Tour De France race..... I have always wanted to see Paris and the Tour De France.... so here I go pedalling my butt over the mountains (but watch out for the slimy little snails on the road) and watch out for those crazed flag flapping fans...

Happy Stamping.

HM&F #47 - Spring Blossoms Just For You

Happy Monday to all you House Mouse & Friends Blog Lovers.... The very talented Carolyn has issued our challenge this week - the only thing that can be coloured is the IMAGE, everything else must be WHITE (papers, embellishments etc).

Here is my take on the challenge.

My adorable Stampabilities House Mouse image is called "Spring Blossoms" featuring Mudpie, Amanda and Monica. I stamped the image twice with stazon jet black ink onto water colour paper. I coloured one whole image with prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol and only coloured the lower daisy image on the other. I cut out the single daisy and rubbed my dry embossing tool on the back of it to give it some dimension, attached daisy. Matted image with rectangle scalloped nestability. Pierced holes in scallops, attached brads to corners. Main card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". I ran a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of white card stock through the Cuttlebug using the Forest Branches embossing folder - I embossed it in both directions. Ran a smaller piece of white card stock through the Bug with the Swiss Dot (border) folder. Punched scalloped border (Martha Stewart punch). Sewed edges twice using a wander stitch. Attached brads in center of the scallops. Attached knotted white Satin Ribbon. Applied diamond stickles to the Flowers. Popped up image and textured panel.

Please make a card or project using at least one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image. And be sure to check out what the other very talented House Mouse & Friends design team have come up with to inspire you.

Sweet Dreams

For this adorable House Mouse Card I combined four challenges from Splitcoast Stampers.
Sketch challenge #SC237, Limited Supply #LSC189 - use your School colours or Wedding colours and also use clips, photo turns or staples - I chose my wedding colours - red, white and grey, Ways to Use it #WT227 - Seeing Double - I used two identical photo turns and brads and this weeks Inspiration challenge #IC189 - Tracey Porter's website.
I scanned in this adorable House Mouse image "Morning Kick Start" into my computer and printed it out onto white card stock and onto designer paper (the images are a little bigger than the original stamp size). Coloured the mouse with prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. Paper pieced the mug and mouse over base image. Doodled in the lines. Stamped on the flower and painted with white acrylic paint. Drew in the red lines and center on the flower. Sponged edges. Matted image with basic grey and sewed edges.

I'm So Happy .......

Happy Tuesday everyone.... I made this adorable Charlie Horse card, late last night... the Colour challenge at Splitcoast Stampers was up loaded early - so of COURSE I had to make a CC card before I could go to sleep. Colour challenge #CC227 ( lavender lace, black, white, going grey and barley banana). This is what I came up with... I so love this happy prancing "Appaloosa" Charlie....

Next I water coloured the barely banana squares with reinkers, the lavender squares and the butterflies with prisma colour pencil crayon and gamsol. Charlie is water coloured with basic black. I stamped on the black dots and used white gel pen for the white dots. The going gray dots that are at the bottom edge and stamped lighter over the rest - I used a stamp from Stampin Up's Itty Bitty set. Sponged edge with basic black. Matted with white, black and lavender lace. Sewed edges. Attached the ribbon and pewter sentiment slider. Main card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. I sewed 1/4" in on the Going Gray base card. Added the Diamond Stickles to the butterflies and the flower tops.

HMF#46 - no colouring

Happy Monday all you House Mouse & Friends Lovers.... America has issued us our challenge for today -
NO COLOURING of any kind. You can not use any kind of colouring medium - no pencil crayons, water colors, chalks etc. You can use coloured or patterned papers and whatever other colourful embellishments you would like to add, as long as you don't colour anything. Nothing at
all - no HM&F images or any other image, no scenes or backgrounds.

Here is my take on the challenge...

I made this mini photo album for this challenge. I will be giving this to my parents for their 57th Wedding Anniversary. It measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2". I used this adorable House Mouse Image called "Sunflower Smooch on the album cover. No colouring mediums were used.. all parts of the image were paper pieced. I stamped the mice on creamy caramel cardstock, sunflower was stamped on harvest - white core textured cardstock and the stem on a pale green designer paper. I used my exacto knife to cut between the mice and into the sunflower and around the leaves. I stamped the stem and leaves twice, so I could layer (paper tole) the image. I also used my embossing tool and rubbed on the back of the images to give them more dimension. For the mini album cover I used a textured basic brown card stock. I made 4 pages for inside the album. I sewed the pages into book - 1/4" in on left side. The designer paper is from Paper Pizzaz called Barnwood - I matted the dp with kraft cardstock. Sponged edges with basic brown. Made the center square 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. Sewed edges with brown thread. Attached the Smooching Mice, attached the brown gingham bow with a brad. Attached the corner tab, hinges and "Love" brad sentiment.
Below is picture of my parents on their wedding day.
Below is a picture of my sweet Mother holding my older brother Michael.
Below is a picture of my siblings and me - many years ago - Celebrating Christmas

There are 5 more pages to the mini album. I am very, very pleased with how this turned out.
Please make sure you check out what the other House Mouse & Friends DT members have come up with to inspire you. Remember to use at least one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image on your card or project.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my little piece of the blogging world. '

HM&F challenge #45 - Seasons

Happy Monday everyone... Our challenge today over at House Mouse and Friends is - Season's.

Make a card or project with a season in mind - ie: Spring, Summer, Fall or winter to theme your card on... So you could make a Thanksgiving card, Christmas card etc...

I chose the Christmas Season... I found this cute Christmas card design in last years Paper Craft magazine Nov/Dec 2008 http://www.papercraftsmag.com/ - the Designer name is Wendy Johnson.

My base card is 9 1/4" x 4" white card stock. I chose some red polka dot designer paper to start with, matted dp with a pale yellow, sponged edges with chocolate chip, distressed edges and then sewed edges. The dp didn't look right - it was a little to bright - so I painted on some red acrylic paint to darken it. I stamped this adorable House Mouse image - called "Mice Star" starring Muzzy, three times. Water coloured images. I cute out the whole image for the bottom section, then just the star and head section for the next layer and then just the head for the top layer - to give it some dimension. I clear embossed the star to add some shine. I made the tree - similar to the card that Wendy ( wendyjohnson.typepad.com ) made. I sewed the tree to the red dp. I placed gold and silver brads randomly on the tree sections. Next I sewed gold cording around the sections - to look like garland. Next I topped the tree with the adorable House Mouse Star. I pleated the green and gold ribbon and sewed it on - for the tree skirt. I made the little Christmas present from Kraft paper - Stamped "Tis the Season" with basic black ink and tied on the gold cording. Punched out the polka dot and Kraft photo corners, sponged edges and attached with gold brads.

I hope you will join us at HM&F with this challenge. Just remember you have to use at least one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image on your card or project. Please make sure to check out what the other amazingly talented DT members have made to inspire you.

Happy stamping

I matted the postcard with black card stock, placed a piece of vellum over image, rounded the corners with corner rounder punch, sewed edges. Used flourish stamp from Stampin Up Baroque motif set - stamped with stazon jet black. Designer paper is from Basic Grey, matted with sage shadow. Used Martha Stewart scalloped border punch. Base card is basic black. Made the ribbon, string and button embellishment
.
