Footprints in the Sand

Hello again.... I absolutely love this Stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs - called Footprints. This is one of my favourite verses/sentiments... I made this card for two challenges - today's colour challenge - at Splitcoast Stampers #CC277 - Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango and neutrals of choice. Plus today's Mothermarks - Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT100 - "My oh My - it's Kahuna Kai". I didn't have any of those colours - so I used More Mustard, Taken with Teal, Really Rust and black as my neutral. I stamped the image twice onto Bristol Vellum using Stampin Up craft black ink and clear embossed images. I cut out the sand portion of one image and water coloured both using Stampin up Reinkers. Framed the card and sewed edges. I sewed only three sides of the popped up sand image. Tied string around the card. I am so very pleased with how this turned out. I will be sending this off to Elaine - a fellow stamper and teaparter - who has had some serious surgery.. She loves the beach but has never been to a beach... Some of the Teapotter ladies will be sending cards to Elaine - to help cheer her up.

CAS73, Birthday Wishes

I made this card for yestersday's Clean and Simple colour challenge CAS73, at Splitcoast Stampers... - Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Pumpkin Pie. I drew in the Fern leaves and dragonfly - I learned how to draw these Sunday at a class held at my local Stamp Store - "Crafty Capers". The very talented Marie Browning was giving two Tombow Marker classes... I didn't have any of the Tombow markers in the colour challenge so I used my Stampin Up markers. Added diamond stickles to the dragonfly wings and sentiment flourish... Pierced two of the image corners using my mat pack. I pierced the base card edges by running it through my sewing machine without thread.... The sentiment image is from Scrappy Cats - birthday wishes.

Pounded Flower Bouquet

Here is a card I made yesterday for Splitcoast Stampers technique challenge - "Pounded Flowers". - You take some fresh flowers/weeds and press them between two sheets of paper - the bottom one should be a water colour paper. Run the flowers through your Cuttlebug or Big Shot machine - hopefully you will get a good outline/print of your flowers. Let the paper dry and make your card.

Above is a close up of my pounded flowers. I am very pleased with how this turned out.

You Make my Heart Happy

Happy Monday everyone.... I made the flower panel of this card yesterday at my local stamp store "Crafty Capers". The very uber talented "Marie Browning" was teaching classes on using Tombow Markers. I was so impressed on how easy it was to make different images/shapes with the Towbow markers..
I wanted to play in yesterdays Splitcoast Stampers - Featured Stamper challenge - Debbie (aka debbiemom23cs) has the honor this weeks. Here is the pretty card "Sympathy to my friend" that I cased.
I used Our Creative Corners sketch for my layout.

I absolutely love how this card turned out. Only three colours of Tombow Markers were used
{#158 - dark olive, #620 - lilac and #603 - periwinkle} to make the lavender flowers.
The sentiment is "Sentiments Cling Stamp". Below is a close up of the image/sentiment panel.

Snips and Snails

Happy Monday everyone... Sorry this is late but Blogger was having technical troubles and I could not upload my image... It is time for another Totally Stampalicious Blog challenge - today's challenge is to use Blue and Yellow on your card or project - any shades. I used this adorable image and sentiment "Sean with Flower " - a Bugaboo Brat image that Totally Stampalicious Store has turned into a clear acrylic stamp. Image was coloured with prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol, plus I used markers to colour his hair and the strips on his t-shirt. I made the blue background panel from white card stock. I score the lines diagonally to match the yellow patterned paper, next I ran my Tempting Turquoise ink pad across the paper several times. I cut out the dp and close to cocoa matting with the Top note die and the oval sentiment and matting with nestabilities, sponged all edges. Made the pleated brown ribbon and sewed all edges and ribbon. Sentiment panel and Sean are popped up.

This card will also qualify for Crazy 4 Challenges - to add pleats to your card, plus Splitcoast Stampers Free for All #F4A15 - to make a card for a man or boy and today's Technique challenge - to make a card using your favourite technique and to make it personal. My favorite technique is gamsol magic and I love to sew on my cards. For the personal side - I am sending this card off to a little boy who is having chemo treatments (one of the ladies on SCS - nephew).
I hope you will join us over at Totally Stampalicious Blog - please make sure to check out what the other DT members have come up with to inspire you.
