Happiness Is....

Happy Friday everyone... Here is a fairly quick card I made this morning.. The Happy Harmony flowers and sentiment were stamped along time ago.. I was so very happy to use it this morning. This week over at Splitcoast Stampers the challenge today was to celebrate May Day and use flowers/blossoms on your card. This also qualifies for Our Creative Corners challenge to use blossoms. I used the Sketch from Splitcoast Stampers #SC278, plus Thursday's challenge was to use chipboard. My faux button is made from chipboard and I covered it with the red SU designer paper that I used on my card. All edges were stitched - I think it looks like a quilt block. Sewed on the gingham ribbon and faux button.

Recipe:

Stamps - Stampin Up - Happy Harmony
Paper - Stampin Up designer paper, whisper white, real red and black
Ink - real red, basic black
Accessories - sewing machine, Cuttlebug, Sizzlet button die cut, chipboard, Diamond Stickles, pop dots, piercing tool.

Totally Stampalicious Monday Colour Challenge card

It time for another Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge... Vicki came up with this fabulous colour combination - Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip and Not Quite Navy (dark teal).
I thought these colours would make a great masculine card - this is the first time I have used this fun TS image "Farmer Hawg". I coloured the image with prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol. I also used the out of the box technique - several parts of the image are outside the rectangle shape. I ran the creamy caramel panel through the cuttlebug with the paisley embossing folder.

Don't forget about the awesome the T.S. "BLOG HOP" to launch their new release of their new line of Bugaboo stamps on April 22nd starting at 9:00 pm EST - that means "Prizes".

I wanted to case one of Sue Titilo's cards as she was QFTD05 - "QUEEN FOR THE DAY" over at Splitcoast Stampers. Here is the card of Sue's that I cased - it was a Totally Stampalicious sketch challenge. I kept a similar layout, used the same image, 3 buttons, and scalloped edge.

I used last weeks sketch SC276 from Splitcoast Stampers, plus the ways to use it challenge - Out side the box and embossing F4A8 .

I hope you will join us over at Totally Stampalicious for this weeks challenge - check out what the other DT members came up with to inspire you.

Thinking of You

Happy Sunday everyone.... my favourite challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers is the featured stamper challenge... I am so happy to see that Pat Smether's one of the sweetest and nicest ladies has been chosen for this honour.... here is the card I cased. Make sure to check out her amazing gallery (patsmethers), full of wonderful works of heart.
This is an image of my youngest son "Guy" - he was about 6 years old at the time - we were at a Rodeo in Falkland, British Columbia... he is looking a little sad in this picture..
I made the faux leather background - stamped the paisleys and flowers in versa mark ink onto More Mustard card stock and then clear embossed them.. Next I overstamped the whole panel in versamark ink and clear embossed again. Base card is Barely Banana, next is black and then the faux leather panel.. Matted the image with black - all edges were distressed and sewed. I stamped the sentiment, cut it out and clear embossed it. Assembled card. Cut a strip of black leather and attached Armadillo concho and the two silver brads. Finished inside of card.
Enjoy you day in the spotlight Pat Smethers...

Happy Tuesday everyone..... I combined several challenges with this card. Splitcoast Stampers colour challenge - Certainly celery, soft suede (close to cocoa), tempting turquoise and the desert option is "crimping", Teapot Tuesday challenge - "Yo! Yo! It's Frizzle, Da Dizzle, Da Teapot Sizzle", Fan club theme - all creatures great and small, technique challenge - inside and out (complete inside of card), StampinB's challenge #52 - make a Funny card, plus I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch challenge Mojo133.

The rooster image is a rak from Pat Smethers - I love this fun image... I water coloured image with Stampin Up reinkers and cut out image. The base card is 5 x 6 1/2". I matted the leafy green dp (Making Memories) with Stampin Up Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede. The green dp with run through the Cuttlebug with Divine Swirls folder and then sanded the swirls. I curled the upper right corner on all three pieces of card stock. I cut two smaller ovals from the blue and green Amuse card stock. I then cut the green oval to make the grass area, cut two rectangle Amuse dp panels. Ran the blue and green ovals and squares through the Cuttlebug with Swiss Dot folder and sanded the raised bumps. Cut a strip of Soft Suede for the middle center panel. All edges were sponged and stitched. Crimped the center Soft Suede panel. Matted the two background panels with Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede. Pierced holes on Tempting Turquoise sections. I cut a green piece of ribbon and a striped piece of ribbon for the center panel. Layered the stripped ribbon over plain green. Sewed the ribbon to the Soft Suede panel. Assembled card. TSMONDAY23, With Enough Caffeine...

Hope you all had a fabulous Easter Holiday. I was lucky enough to see all three of my grown children and a couple of my grand daughters.... My DH cooked me an absolutely delicious dinner - lucky, lucky me.

For today's Totally Stampalicious blog challenge I came up with this weeks challenge - to make an Easel style card. I love how these cards look and are fairly easy to make. Here is a wonderful tutorial given by Beate Johns on Splitcoast Stampers.
I used the Totally Stampalicious "Coffee Brawd" set on my Easel card. I coloured Coffee Brawd with Prisma colour pencil crayons. Cut out image. Cut out square chocolate frame using two different sized square nestabilities. Cut a square of white card stock and vellum. Ran the vellum square through crimper to give it a textured look. Matted panel with pink card stock. Sewed frame with a wandering stitch. I matted the Debbie Mumm Paisely dp with a textured brown and pink card stock. Used large scalloped border punch on the paisely and pink upper panel. Cut a thin brown strip for the scalloped panel. Sewed edges and strip. Made my crushed scalloped flower using the pink, brown and paisley dp. Cut out scallops with nestabilities and cuttlebug dies. Cut out the Sizzlet leaves. Sewed on button center. Stamped sentiments one white acrylic water coloured paper in close to cocoa. Cut out one of the sentiments with oval nestability. Sponged edges. I stamped the coffee mugs onto paisley dp and cut out with exacto knife. The "Java Junkie" sentiment was cut out using my Cuttlebug letter dies. Ran the letters through the Xyron sticker machine. Assembled card. I used this sketch that I saw on the Delightful Sketches blog.
Below is a closeup of the top part of my Easel Card.
Below is a close up of the bottom section of the Easel card.

I hope you will join us over at Totally Stampalicious for this weeks challenge. Make sure to check out what the other very talented DT members have come up with to inspire you.

This also works for this weeks challenge over at Our Creative Corner - to use buttons.

Hugs and Kisses

Hello... here is another multi-challenge card... Splitcoast Stampers colour challenge (so saffron, basic grey, bermuda bay or tempting turquoise), technique challenge - complete the inside and outside of your card, ways to use it challenge - "Sweet child", March fan club theme - "all creatures great and small", Sew Many Challenges - use punches, and I used "Tuesday Morning Sketches" sketch by Melissa Craig. The adorable digi images is from Sew Many Digi Images - called "Jovi with little girl". I coloured the image with prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol.
Cut out the image. Made the cuttle bugged glossy white wall paper, I thought the grey diamond patterned dp made the perfect floor tiles for our little girl and bunny. Matted the image panel with grey, yellow, tempting turquoise and grey. I used my Stampin up scalloped border punch to make the double border. Pierced each scallop. I cut a scalloped circle into quarters and used 1 quarter of it to make my corner tab. Attached the Stampin up filigree flower brads. All panels were stitched. Assembled card. Applied Stickles to the brads, bow, patches and to parts of the dp. I completed the inside of the card.
