Friendship is knitted with Love

Happy Sunday everyone.... I'm a little late today with making my Featured Stamper card - it is one of my favourite challenges on Splitcoast Stampers.... My dear hubby and I were very happy to have our oldest granddaughter "Kayla" for a sleepover. Her Daddy and Mommy picked her up a little while ago...

Nicole Taylor aka "ButterflyEars" on Splitcoast is today's Featured Stamper. Here is the adorable House Mouse card "CAS31 Pop it Up" that I cased. I was also lucky enough to receive many House Mouse images and sentiments from Nicole - this is one that she sent me. Thank you so much Nicole... I am going to have so many hours of pleasure colouring those images.

Below is a close up of my adorable little mice. I coloured the mice with prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol.. Cut out image, used my dry embossing tool to give the image dimension. Popped up image over base image. I had added some white flower soft to the bottom image, plus I clear embossed their eyes to darken them and give them some shine.
This card also qualifies for two more challenges on Splitcoast Stampers - Virtual Stamp Night - Winter Olympic Challenge - FEBVSNMINI3 - Red Mittens . Adelle's challenge was to make a card that includes the colours of red and white and wool or yard in honour of the mittens.
Plus Dawns challenge- FEBVSNMINI2 - Chill Out - we are to use white flower soft/tacky glue or embossing powder - (white, clear, glassy glaze) for snow or ice.
Recipe:
Stamps - House Mouse - Close Knit Friendship
Ink - black, ruby red
Paper - whisper white, ruby red
Accessories - sewing machine, prismacolour pencil crayons, gamsol, blending stumps, pop dots, glue, white flower soft, heat gun, clear embossing powder, embossing tool, sponge

Magical Wishes

Happy Tuesday - hope you are all having a marvelous day... woo hoo - I managed to combine four challenge in this one little old card. Three from Splitcoast Stampers - yesterdays technique - to make a side step card #TLC257, today's colour challenge - Pretty in Pink, Mambo Mellon, Blush Blossom, neutrals of choice - the desert option us red - but only red hearts and the third is Tuesday Teapot challenge - to bring some juicy gossip to Rapunzel's new Beauty Salon - "Classy Castle Cuts" to help bring in lots of new customers. Read HERE for more of the story. Plus this weeks challenge over at Crazy 4 challenges - pretty in pink - make a card of project with a pink theme.

Here is my gossipy story - Little unicornia "Sweety Bell" has heard that Derek the Dragon has a huge chore ahead of him. He is to fly in hundreds or is that 42,000 gossipy teapotters to Rapunzel's new beauty salon... and psssst... I have heard that Sweety Bell has a SECRET CRUSH on handsome Derek the Dragon. The plan is for Sweety Bell to see if she and all her flying unicornia and pony friends can help Derek out... maybe take notice of her NOW.. Plus
she'll ask her pony friends if they'll get their manes and tales washed, dyed and curled at Rapunzel's new salon....

I really enjoyed making this side step card... Will definitely try this again. I cut out the base card from textured Mellon card stock. There is a picture on Splitcoast Stampers technique challenge TLC257 with instruction on how to make the side step card. Next I cut pieces of the card stock to fit each panel. Stamped the little heart flowers and butterflies on pretty in pink. Coloured image. Cut out the Mellon scalloped edge. Glued down each panel. Stamped sentiment on blush blossom. Cut out with window punch, plus one in pretty in pink and Mellon. Pierced hole and attached with pink brad. Tied on pink ribbon bow. Stamped the pony (from Stampin Up - Pony Party- set) onto whisper white. Used stamp a ma jig to add the wings and unicorn to the pony. Stamped on the hearts. Coloured pony with markers and pencil crayons. Clear embossed her eye, unicorn and hooves. Added Diamond stickles to her wings, hearts, tail and mane, plus the little red flowers and pink brad. I added the row of pink pearls to the larger stair step panel.

Recipe:

Happy Heart Day and It's the Little Things

Happy Monday everyone.... here are two Clean and Simple cards I made for the CAS challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. - to use designer Papers. The first card with the little bear (from Stampin Up set - Beary Best) also qualifies for the challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenge - Pretty in Pink - design a card or project with a pink theme... I went with the pink heart on the red dp and the pink striped paper and pink ribbons. I like the shape of this card - I saw this in a Paper Crafts magazine from a few years back. The top edge is 3" wide and the bottom edge is 6" wide. The striped paper is 2 1/2". I sewed on the pink ric rack.

The second card was very easy to make - I already had the flowers and the sentiment stamped - something I did a couple of years ago and found it in my stash. Flowers and sentiment are from the Stampin Up set called Happy Harmony. I coloured the flowers with markers and then added Diamond stickles to the top sections of the flowers. Matted image with black cardstock. I scored the upper and lower sections of the white base card. Punched out the lower edge of the middle black panel with Stampin up scalloped punch, layered the Stampin up checked dp over top. Pierced holes in the scallops. Popped up the image and done.

Inspired by Karen B Barber

Happy Monday everyone... I made this card yesterday -my second of the day - for Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper Challenge... FS155 - Karen B Barber - make sure to check out her amazing gallery - she is one talented artist. Here is the card that inspired me - "Black and white magic". Karen is known for her beautiful cards using the black magic technique. Here is a tutorial given by Karen for the Black magic technique with a twist. I have only made one other card using it. I love the stamp she used "Inspired by Nature" so it was the perfect choice for me to case. I stamped the image using craft white ink onto chocolate chip card stock. Coloured the flowers with prisma colour pencil crayons. Used white gel pen to apply the dots. Made the little fence with a Martha Stewart punch. Scored lines, folded and sponged edges with chocolate chip to highlight the individual boards.

Now Listen Here - Chocolate is not just for breakfast anymore

Hello again.... Don't you just love these old broads from "Art Impressions"... I was lucky enough to stamp off some images, while visiting Pat Smethers in Clovis, California in March of 2009....
I thought these blue haired, tea potter ladies would enjoy going to New York to have breakfast at Tiffany's - see the whole story HERE.

The little teapot you see in front of the middle lady is from Stampin Up - Best Borders (retired). I cut out one teapot - it matched the heart dp. Coloured with markers and popped it up.

My card also works for last weeks sketch challenge and today's colour challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. The colours are Soft Suede, Ruby Red, Bashful blue and the desert option is to use stripes.... I water coloured my image using Stampin up reinkers, I coloured the bracelets with a gold metallic pen, drew the dots and swirls on the shirs with a white gel pen. Cut out the image with an oval Spellbinder, matted with soft suede and ruby red. The heart dp is from Mary Englebreight scrapbook pack and the striped dp is from Recollections - Fall mat pack. Added Diamond stickles on the SS oval behind the image and on the stripes on the suede dp. Attached ribbon and heart brad to the sentiment. Sewed all edges. Popped up image and sentiment.

Celebrating You

Here is a card I made using the Brick Wall technique. Here is a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers
given by Birgit - check it out... Plus my card qualifies for the Clean and Simple colour challenge - to use Taken with Teal, white and one other colour... I chose to use Close to Cocoa.
The stamps I used are from "My Heart Stamps for You" - from the South West set - I stamped them with Taken with Teal, plus I used the Sanded backgrounder stamp from Stampin up using close to cocoa. I cut the bricks into 1" squares and 1 1/2" rectangles - sponged all edges with close to cocoa. I place the bricks onto CC and matted with TT. I threaded some Teal beads onto raffia and tied it onto the card....

Oh Happy Day

I'm a little late uploading this card to my blog.... This was for The Teapot Tuesday Challenge on "This is My Story" blog and on Splitcoast Stamper Teapot Tuesday challenge. The teapot ladies are try to find out "Where is the bad apple that put Annie on her fannie. Check out the story here.

Poor Miss Annie Mae Appleseed (descendant of Johnnie Appleseed) was busy picking apples when she heard this hissing coming from the tree she was working - it scared her so badly she tumbled off her ladder - could it have been that black kitty.

Most of my card is made up of stickers. The trees, Annie and the cat are stickers. I cut out the apples from designer paper. The hills and pathway were hand drawn and coloured. I did use some stamps from Stampin Ups Water colour minis for the grass. Sponged on the clouds and drew the birds. Matted image with real red and sewed edges. The sentiment is from Fiskars.

Pleated Happy Birthday

Happy Monday everyone... We are having a very rainy, dreary day here in Nanaimo, B.C. I am hoping the sun will peak through at some point - but the weather man says it is going to rain all week long :(

Here is another card I want to share with you - I made it late last night. I combined three challenges - yesterday's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast Stampers - FS153 - WeeBeeStampin (Wendy). I cased this adorable card "Pumpkin Emma". You were to change at least three things - I changed the image, colours and pleated the bottom panel.

My card qualifies for the challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges - to make a BIRTHDAY card, plus the challenge over at Just Magnolia - to add PLEATING to your card.

My adorable Magnolia image "Tilda with Sunflower" was stamped with Stazon jet black onto Bristol Vellum paper and coloured with Prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol. Image was matted with Kraft and More Mustard. I used the Stampin Up ticket corner punch on the Kraft.

Card Size is 5 x 6.5. Base card panel is a textured cream white. I pleated the DP then sponged and sanded the pleats. Ran the top cream panel through the Cuttlebug with the Divine swirls folder - I thought it matched the swirls in the Fall Dp. Attached the CB panel and pleated panel to 4.75 x 6.25 More Mustard Panel. Punched out a Scalloped border with Martha Stewart punch. Stamped sentiment onto More Mustard - cut out with oval Spellbinders. Cut out scalloped mat from Kraft. Sponged edges with Close to Cocoa. Sewed all edges. Added the mini copper brads to center of Sunflower. Tied on Ribbon and assembled card. Completed inside of card.

Recipe:

Stamps - Magnolia Rubberstamps - Tilda with Sunflower, Stampendous - Impressions ever time
Ink - Stazon jet black, Stampin Up - soft sky and close to cocoa
Paper - Stampin Up - More Mustard, non SU kraft and white, Paper Company - Cream White, Recollections - Autumn Fall mat pack, Bristol Vellum

We were to change at least three things - I changed the image, colours and made mine a feminine card. Plus I omitted the four oval tabs at the bottom and used my large flower BRADS instead. Added the pearls to the brad centers and daisy flowers under Charliene.
I water coloured my image with Stampin Up reinkers.

Quilted Cards - May your bobbin always be full and Howdy There Miss Kitty

Happy Tuesday everyone... I have two cards to share with you. The green quilted "log cabin block" with the Handsome cowboy in the middle (my oldest son Kyle) I made for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge, Splitcoast Stampers Monday Technique challenge to make a card with a quilt block design and today's SCS colour challenge - certainly celery, handsome hunter, Bermuda bay and the desert option - pink (anything other than pink card stock).

The story line for the Teapot Tuesday challenge is - We are off to Dodge City - What is wrong with Miss Kitty? Check out the story here and Mothermarks Blog - This is my Story.

I used the Maple Leaf quilt block design to make the card below. I made it look like a wall hanging. The sentiment is from Stampin Up - "Quilt Quips".

Aloha

Welcome back to the House Mouse Monday Challenges. Hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas and wonderful New Years. Over at House Mouse and Friends blog - Mary has issued the challenge theme --"On the Beach". She was thinking as most of us are having a cold, snowy, wet winter - that this should bring a little bit of SUNSHINE into our lives for just a little while.

I love this adorable Happy Hopper image called "Bunny Cruise" and he is perfect for our Beach Theme. I coloured the image with Prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. Masked image and stamped on the Palm trees twice. Next I sponged on the clouds. Clear embossed the drink glass and rubber ducky. Added stickles to to water for sparkles. Cut out the Bunny image - free hand. I lightly pressed the Nestability onto the image - so I could see the nestie shape. I wanted the palm trees to be outside the Nesty shape. Stamped "Aloha onto brarely banana cardstock, sponged edges and cut out with circle punch. The shape under the sun is a flower - used a Martha Stewart flower punch. I used three different dp's for the background and zig zag stitched together. Matted with Stampin up Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise. Added stickles to the outside of the sun and the base Razzleberry panel. Image panel and sun are popped up.

I sure hope you will hop and over and take a look HERE at what the other DT members have made to inspire you, plus I hope you will join us in our Beach Theme challenge - just make sure to use at least one Happy Hopper, House Mouse or Gruffies image on your card or project.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my little piece of the blogging world.
