House Mouse Challenge #31 - Bags or Boxes

Happy House Mouse Monday everyone... Over at the House Mouse & Friends Monday Blog the challenge is to decorate a bag or box, or make your own bag or box or make something from a bag or box. There is a sponsor for this weeks challenge

"The Cutting Cafe" - the company has a wonderful variety of template files and printable image to download and use. They will be giving away any three sets of the winners choice.

I used the basic design from The Cutting Cafe' - but I needed a little bigger box. My box is 4" x 5". I used the Martha Stewart zig zag border punch on the top part of the box. I received my House Mouse image from America (thanks America). Water coloured the image with SU reinkers. I used fun flock (caramel latte tan) on the mouse - this was the first time I have used the fun flock - I really like the effect.

Matted image with chocolate chip, stitched around edge. Cut out three rectangles -pink, yellow, blue and attached to image with brad. I matted the Easter DP (Craft n Craftin ) with tempting turquoise and non SU yellow - stitched edges. Attached the blue felt ribbon. I placed different coloured brads over dots on the dp. Cut out the little bunny - it was from the other side of the chick dp, cut out an extra little chick. Placed the Bunny above the HM image to look like the mouse was handing the Bunny the Easter egg... The sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe" - from the Everyday Occasions Sayings - I just used the center part of the sentiment. sponged on barely banana over sentiment. Attached the HM image with brads, popped up main panel.

Hopefully you'll be able to join us over at House Mouse and Friends, just make sure to use one House Mouse, Gruffies or Happy Hopper image. Please have a look at all the wonderful design from the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping

FS112, 0CCC, Love is - a romantic evening gazing at the stars together

Congratulation's Michelle (aka JustPaintingAround) on being this weeks featured stamper on Splitcoast Stampers... Love your gallery...
I combined the featured stamper challenge #FS112 and used the colour challenge from Our Creative Corner - bashful blue, not quite navy and more mustard.
I chose to case this beautiful card of Michelle's. I love the cute House Mouse image - Together under the Stars and the Zindorf technique she used.
For the featured stamper challenge you are to change at least two things - I changed the background stamp, the shape of the card, colours, added ribbon, brads, sewing and used three window tag punches instead of one.
Main image was stamped on glossy white card stock in stazon jet black. I coloured the leaves, tails and faces with Stampin up markers (blush blossom and old olive), I water coloured the mice and moon.. used basic grey ink. Used versamark pen on stamped image and clear embossed. Masked the sky section and sponged more mustard on ground. Masked ground and sponged on bashful blue, then sponged on not quite navy leaving a lighter section under the moon. Added stars with white gel pen. Matted with bashful blue, not quite navy and more mustard. Main card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. Stamped Inspired by Nature leaves onto bashful blue card stock with bashful blue ink. Shadow stamped Not quite navy leaves over the bashful blue leaves. Next I stamped over the leaves with Sanded backgrounder in old olive. Inked edges with NQN. Sewed around edges. Tied on the Blue felt ribbon (purchased at Michael's for $1.00). Punched out three tags with SU window punch, used crop o dile to punch hole in tag, attached gold jump ring. Added the light blue brads. Popped up main image and bottom panel...

FS111, CC211, Hippity Hop

For this card, I combined Splitcoast Stampers colour challenge #CC211 (baja Breeze or sage shadow, kiwi kiss or old olive and pretty in pink) and Featured stamper challenge #FS111 (Beate)... I have always loved Beate's SCS gallery and her Blog. Hope you enjoyed your week in the spotlight, Beate.
Here is the card of Beate's that I chose to case. I changed the colours, image and omitted the ribbon. I did make a grid pattern - but it does not show up in the photo. I purchased the Hero Arts - design tree block from Jenny's (aka creativecards on SCS) store Creative Cards in Grass Valley, CA... what an absolutely fabulous store she has.... I wish I had more time to shop in her store, more time to get to know her and more time to visit with Pat Smethers....
The leaf punches are from Pat Smethers.

Thanks for stopping by, Happy Stamping.

House Mouse Challenge #30, make a card that is not a rectangle or square

Happy Monday everyone. This weeks challenge over at the House Mouse Monday Challenge blog is to make a shaped card/project that is not your typical rectangle or square shape. As some of you already know I am still on holidays - having a wonderful time in California. I stopped in to visit Pat and Bubba (The Buckleman) Smethers - whom I met through the fabulous Splitcoast Stampers site. My DH and I really enjoyed their wonderful company and hospitality, Rob and Bubba visited, while Pat and I stamped and then went and did a little shopping.

The cute little image on my Butterfly shaped card is from Pat Smethers - (check out her amazing gallery) , plus the felt flower and the pleated brown polka dot ribbon - thanks Pat .

I had been racking my brain for almost a week trying to figure out what shape to make my card... While in Michael's a couple of days ago I saw this package of chipboard butterflies - (Colorbok - Chipboard book). I used the butterfly as my template - cut out four BF's, two striped (Grandma's Kitchen - simple stripes) and two plain SU more mustard ones. Cut one of the MM BF's into four pieces - I felt just using the striped one was to plain for the front. Ran the BF through the cuttlebug (yes I brought it on my trip :), inked the dots with chocolate chip, went around the edges with CC maker to highlight edges and wing sections. Added the felt flowers and brads.

Coloured the House Mouse image with prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol. Matted with MM, distressed edges. Pierced holes and hand stitched around edges, added the four stitches on either side of the image, also stitched the Butterflies leash with black thread. Added the mini copper brads for the eyes. I glued the cut out butterflies to the front and backs of two chipboard BF's. Tied the back and front together with polka dot ribbon.

Please take the time to go over to the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge blog and have a look at all the other DT wonderful cards, to help inspire you.
Hope you can play along with us, just make sure you use at least one House Mouse, Gruffies or Hoppers image on your card, remember to upload it to the HM site.

Thanks for stopping by,

Have a wonderful day,

Patricia

House Mouse Challenge #29 - a sketch - Thank you Sew Much

Happy House Mouse Monday --- Today's challenge over at the House Mouse and Friends blog is a sketch challenge.

I stamped my House Mouse image ("Sew What" #HMUR1065 - starring Monica and Amanda) on Stampin Up - whisper white using Stazon timber brown - Image was stamped twice. Coloured with Prisma colour pencil crayon, gamsol and blending stumps. I drew in the tile floor and wall panelling. Cut out images of Monica and Amanada from one, popped up images with foam dots. Main card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" old olive, next is chocolate chip. I just purchased this wonderful double sided designer paper (Fancy Pants - #761) called Twitterpated from my local Scrapbooking Store. On the old olive strip - I used the Stampin Up Sanded bg stamp in old olive. The blue strip is the back side of the striped dp. Cut out the scalloped circle and plain circles with my Nestabilities. The yellow circle is Barely Banana from Stampin up. Stamped Sentiment - from Stampabilities - called Sew Much #QR1054 - in Stazon Timber brown and coloured background. Stitched all edges. Sewed on the spool buttons, hand stitched two corners of the main images.

If you can, check out all the other wonderful DT cards, if you join in on the challenge, remember to upload your cards.

Congratulations Stacy (Twinshappy) - FS110

Congratulations Stacy (aka Twinshappy) on being this weeks featured stamper over on Splitcoast Stampers. I have always admired Stacy's stamping style and she is also on the House Mouse and Friends design team with me.... Hugs Stacy, enjoy your time in the spotlight....
Here is the beautiful card that I chose to case. I kept the stame theme and layout, changed the image, colours, omitted the sentiment, added the piercings.

My husband and I are travelling to San Diego, California right now, stopped in Modesto for the night. I had to check to see if the FS was up on the website yet, YES it was. So of course, I just had to make my card before I could sleep, otherwise I would have been tossing and turning all night - you know what I mean :) .

I brought along minimal stamping supplies on the trip - but wanted to get in some stamping. The featured stamper challenge is one of my favourite challenges. I did just happen to have the Inspired by Nature image already coloured - just needed to find the co-ordinating colours and designer paper in my stash. I purchased the teal felt flower ribbon at Michael's yesterday - how lucky was that - it matched my image perfectly.

P.S. - My DH and I are heading over to Clovis, CA this afternoon to visit my SCS sister - Pat Smethers and her DH known as the Buckleman on SCS... we will be VISITING and of course STAMPING..... :)

Thanks for stopping by....
Have a wonderful day...

CC209, When life throws you scraps, make a quilt

Today's challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers is a colour challenge... to use Basic black, Rose Red and Always Artichoke. I really wanted to use my brand new Stampin up set called "Quilt Quips" - I just picked it this morning...
I thought of two of my sisters, Valerie-Raye and Joan, and my Mother-in-laws who are all quilter's, when I purchased this set. This is what I came up with - I decided to make the quilt into a wall hanging. I coloured the images with prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. Cut them out, matted the squares with basic black, non SU rose, then Always artichoke. My main card is 5"x5" AA, next is BB, then SU AA designer paper. I stitched around the edges of the main card and also in between all the quilt blocks. Added the brads and the top ribbon tabs. I cut a BBQ skewer for my quilt rod. Stamped the sentiment on whisper white in basic black, sponged and stitched edges. Attached the ribbon strip and sentiment. Added Diamond stickles parts of the quilt blocks.

Thanks for stopping by...

FS109 - Here's and Easter Egg for you

This weeks featured stamper over at Splitcoast Stampers is Judy (aka - StampingQueenJar).
She has the most amazing gallery - chock full of fabulous creations. And she loves House Mouse images as much as I do... So I had to case one of her adorable cards "Be Mine". Hope you enjoy your time in the spotlight, Judy.
I changed the theme from Valentines to Easter - but still used a House Mouse image.
I cuttle bugged the white base card with the swiss dot embossing folder, then ran Pretty in Pink ink pad over the dots. I used my Martha Stewart Zig Zag border punch (twice) instead of a scalloped single border. Omitted the squares on the border - attached my buttons with Candy Cane pink brads. Reversed the placement of the image and sentiment. Added the pink Easter ribbon. Sewed edges. I coloured the image with prisma colour pencil crayons, gamsol and blending stumps. The Happy Easter sentiment is from Studio G - The whole stamp is a little chick holding the Easter sentiment - I just cut out the sentiment. The basket is a clear stamp that was purchased from Costco in a set - coloured the basket and eggs, placed the sentiment over the bottom part of the basket, matted with pink dp, attached the pink brad. It looks like the little mouse is reaching to place his egg in the basket. :)
Thanks again America for the sweet House Mouse image and ribbon.

Thanks for looking..
Patricia

House Mouse Challenge #28 - Masculine - Men

Happy House Mouse Monday.... Today's challenge over at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Blog is to make a masculine card for an adult, not the young kind, because that would be easy. Most of us seem to struggle with making masculine cards for grown up men.

My House Mouse image is called "Sunny Side Up" #HMJR1033 (Thanks America for the image and sentiment). I water coloured the image with Stampin Up reinkers. Matted with More Mustard and Chocolate Chip, Added the yellow corduroy brad. Main card is 5 1/2" X 5 1/2" Chocolate Chip, next is more mustard than Memory Stor dp... I thought this dp was perfect for the image... look at all those suns. The four squares are 2"x2", chocolate chip, more mustard and Memory Stor dp (purchased at Costco). All edges were distressed and stitched. Added the sentiment and brads.

My DH (Rob) and I are heading for San Diego, California - we are hoping to kick back, relax and enjoy some warm, sunny weather, to do some sightseeing, mountain biking, visiting family and friends. Hopefully we'll be feeling as relaxed as Mudpie is. :)

Please head on over to the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Blog and have a look at all the other wonderful cards the DT have made. If you can join us this week, please remember to upload your card or project to the HM blog.

Happy Stamping...

House Mouse Challenge #27 - Chipboard

Happy Monday everyone....

Today's House Mouse Monday Challenge is to use chipboard on your card as long as it has a House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffie image on it. This fun image "Jalapeno Peppers" was given to me by the one and only "America" along with many other cute images, ribbon and embellishments, plus a sweet House Mouse card - Thanks America.

I coloured the image was prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. I drew in the wall lines and the horizontal line to finish off the scene. The peppers, jar and candles were all clear embossed to give them a shine. Sponged edge with chocolate chip, matted with gingersnap brown. Attached the snaps with crop o dile. The two small peppers in the upper left corner are from My Heart Stamps for You - South West set. Edges sponged with chocolate chip and edges stitched.Main card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 - Martha Stewart - Chrysanthemum, next layer is white cardstock - I sponged the edges with apricot appeal. Next layer is gingersnap brown. Made the three vertical panels. Polka dot dp is matted with chrysanthemum and edges stitched. Added the chipboard sentiment "Wish" bottom center panel. Image panel is up on pop dots. I will be giving my Husband this card for his birthday - He absolutely loves hot peppers - His birthday is March 3rd.... When I saw this image - I knew it was perfect for my DH's birthday.
