Framed Iris's

Happy Tuesday everyone... I combined several challenges in this one card. Today's Splitcoast Stampers colour challenge (chocolate chip, sage shadow, really rust or dusty durango) and last weeks Limited supply challenge - I've been framed. Mojo Mondays sketch challenge #125, Mothermarks Tuesday Teapot challenge, Double Dog Dare - frame it, SCS Dirty Dozen January Monthly Theme - floral, feminine and flirty.

I stamped the Iris's from Stampin Up "Long Stemmed Flowers" set. Water coloured with SU really rust, sage shadow and summer sun reinkers. I stamped the Medallion using sage shadow on white card stock. Cut around the bottom section and sponged edges. I cut out the center of the medallion with circle spellbinder. Placed a piece of acetate behind cutout. Cut out the chocolate chip scalloped frame and popped it up. Attached the Sage ribbon on top and lower sections of the circle. Placed the flowers behind medallion panel. I used the SU topnote die to make the sage shadow reverse scallop at the bottom of the medallion. Put the textured checked dp behind medallion panel. Matted with chocolate chip. Sewed edges. Made the bow/brad embellishment and attached. Assembled the panels behind image panel.

You Wind Me Up

Here is my hubby's Valentine's Day card.... It qualifies for today's CAS challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers - to be inspired by Candy Crates Retro Candy Store - mine was this cute Tin Toy Robot. It also works for Our Creative Corners challenge - to make a masculine Valentine card and Crazy 4 Challenges - to make a Valentine card.

I used this cute robot and sentiment from Recollections - robot set. Water coloured the robot and cut him out. I made the planet that he is standing on - ran it through the CB and the white panel (Swiss dot folder). Punched out the hearts. Matted white panel with real red, sewed edges.

Thinking of You - CAS

Happy Monday everyone... Here is a quick card I made yesterday - my second card for the Featured Stamper challenge FS157 at Splitcoast Stampers.. Here is the card of Barbara Anders (Bar) that I cased.

I inked up my Paisley embossing folder with whisper white in, then put the creamy caramel panel in the folder - ran through the cuttlebug. Note: I only ran part of the panel through the bug - left the bottom portion blank - to stamp my sentiment on. Matted panel with chocolate chip. Punched a strip of chocolate chip with my Stampin Up scalloped border punch. Attached the brown gingham ribbon. Sewed edges with brown thread. Pierced holes in the scallops. Stamped on my sentiment (Fiskars - Just Between Friends) - pierced the two lines in front of the sentiment. Made my bow and star button embellishment. Attached bow to card. Popped up panel over top of Creamy Caramel base card 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

Howdy Friend

Happy Tuesday.... I created this card for Splitcoast Stampers colour challenge #CC256 - crushed curry, bravo burgundy and basic grey, plus Mothermark (Cindy's) Teapot Tuesday challenge and Our Creative Corner challenge - Music. Here is Cindy's Teapot Story.
The teapot ladies are off to California to help Alicia's little brother Curt - to encourage him in his career as a stunt cow or help him find another career more suited to his small stature.
I have found this cute little singing cowboy "Kyle" to give Curt some singing lessons. I figure if he gets good enough - he may even try out for American Idol.

I received this cute little cowboy image from a good friend "Pat Smethers" - it is made by Sutter Enterprises. I water coloured the image and cut it out. Tied on the little piece of string. Base card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. I stamped a 5" square piece of grey card stock with paisleys and flowers with black ink. Next I dotted the paisley's and flowers and drew in some lines - this is called the Faux Bandana technique. I cut the square into 4 smaller squares, matted with white, burgundy and crushed curry. I layered a piece of vellum over top and sewed edges. Next I stamped another piece of vellum with the desert scene (Local King Rubber Stamp) using Stazon jet black, I tore the upper and lower edges, next I tore 3 more strips of vellum, sponged all edges with black and layered over top of base panel. Sewed edges. Stamped the "Howdy" sentiment three times across the bottom. I had these two wooded cactus and the silver skull hardware in my stash... I glued on cactus and attached the skull (Has prongs on the back of it). Popped up the cowboy image - finished... I am very happy with how this turned out...

Happy hello

I made these two Clean and Simple cards for the CAS #52 challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. A sketch challenge - were were to be inspired by this cute card by kmahany.

For the "Happy Hello" card - the flower and sentiment are from Fiskars - "Just between Friends". I first stamped the flower in Summer Sun and then rock n rolled it into Pumpkin Pie ink. Cut out the flowers and attached the bright yellow buttons. I just purchased the large scalloped "ek success" embossed curve edger punch today from Michael's (used my 50% discount coupon). I cut a smaller white panel and placed my flowers and ribbon onto it. Popped up the panel. The sentiment is stamped with Pumpkin Pie ink... I am very happy with how this one turned out.

For the "oh HAPPY day! card - I stamped the flower/square image (Kolette Hall $1.50 stamp) with stazon jet black ink. I turned the stamp in three different directions. Water coloured the square with Blush Blossom ink, coloured the flower with Prisma colour pencil crayon - terra cotta and blended with gamsol. Added the 1/2 black pearls. The textured gingham paper is from DCWV - Farmers Market. I cut a strip of Blush Blossom and used my Stampin Up scalloped border punch across the bottom, layered gingham over- top. Stamped sentiment (Fiskars - Just between Friends) with Stazon Jet Black ink. Made and little black satin bow and glued on. I pleased with this one as well.

Happy Monday everyone.... It's a new challenge over at House Mouse and Friends Blog - it is America's turn to issue the challenge... She has chosen "Love" as the theme - since Valentine's Day is nearly here. Just make a card or project that is LOVE related - make sure to use at least one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image if you are uploading to the challenge blog.

Here is my take on the challenge. I used this adorable House Mouse image is called "With all my Heart".

I decided to make a matching candy holder to hold the cinnamon hearts and Sweet Note candies.
How I made the card - I coloured the adorable image with prisma colour pencil crayons. The scalloped frame is Stampin Up chocolate chip - I used the scalloped rectangle Spellbinder and a smaller plain rectangle and cut out the middle of it, layered over image. Sewed edges. The base card is 5" x 6 1/2". I used the Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge # SC265 for my layout. The red heart rectangle panels are 1 3/4" by 4". Placed the I love you dp over chocolate chip card stock and zig zag stitched edge. Placed the 3 heart rectangles over top and stitched on. I used the Martha Stewart heart border punch to make the strip across the middle and then layered ribbon over top. House Mouse image is popped up with dimensionals. Next I applied Diamond stickles to the candy hearts and the hearts on the red rectangle panels.

How I made the candy holder. I coloured the sweet little House Mouse image "Be Mine Heart and Sole" with prisma colour pencil crayons. Punched out with tag punch, sponged edges with chocolate chip in. I cut a strip of designer paper 2 1/2" x 12", scored at 4 1/2", 6" and 10 1/4". Used scalloped border punch on the 1 3/4" section. Punched out a 2 1/2" piece of chocolate chip to place under dp scalloped edge. I used an oval Spellbinder to cut out the oval on the dp for the window. Made a bow and ribbon and tag to top of candy holder with brad. I used a piece of Velcro for my closure.

Recipe:
Stamps - House Mouse - With all my heart, Be mine heart and sole
Paper - Whisper white, Chocolate Chip, My Minds Eye - I Love You , K&C Company - Sweet Talk
Ink - Stazon Jet black
