HMF #44 - Paper toled Christmas Card

Happy Monday all you House Mouse Lovers...

This is my week to issue the challenge. My challenge to you is to use paper tole technique on your cards... What is paper tole you ask ....

Paper tole is a technique where part or all of an image is popped up from the image (surface) to give it a 3D effect.

Simple tole : when a duplicate image is stamped on a different piece of paper, colour image and cut out. You pop up the duplicate image over top of the original - raising image up for the 3D effect.

Here is a link that I found on the Internet to give you more ideas for paper tole.

Here is another link to paper tole technique - Our very own Mary has made a wonderful tutorial on paper tole.

Below is my take on the challenge. I stamped this adorable House Mouse image - called "Cozy Roost" three times onto water colour paper. I coloured the whole image on the bottom panel. Only coloured the birds, mice and the branch they are sitting, on the second image and for the third image, I only coloured the very bottom branch. I used my embossing tool and rubbed on the back of the cut out images to give them a little more dimension. Popped up the mouse and birds, glued down parts of the branches. For the third layer I glued on the bottom branch. Applied the white liquid applique for the snow on the branches - when it was dry I applied the icicle stickles for sparkle. Matted image with SU purely pomegranate. Main card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The dp is from Me and My Big Ideas - Noel pack. Matted dp with soft sky and Purely pomegranate. Sewed a wandering stitch around both panels. Added the snowflake embellishments.

Below is a close up of the the paper toled images.

Please come on over to the House Mouse and Friends Blog and take a look at what the other DT members have come up with to inspire you. Hope you can play along, just make sure to use at least one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffie image on your card or project.

Happy Stamping...

A beautiful butterfly

I really enjoyed trying this weeks technique challenge #TLC226 on Splitcoast Stampers - faux denim... and I used this weeks colour challenge #CC224 - Summer Sun, Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. I stamped the beautiful butterfly (Inkadinkado) twice, once on white card stock and again on vellum. Water coloured butterfly using summer sun reinkers. For the double border I used a Martha Stewart border punch, ran the panel through the Cuttlebug with branches folder, then I ran the summer sun ink pad overtop to give it dimension. Sewed all edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Over at my house, we combined two birthday's, my youngest son, Guy's 25th and my brother Mark's 50th. We had approximately 40 people to help celebrate their birthdays. And on Sunday we celebrated Father's Day.

Over at House Mouse and Friends - our challenge today is from Jeanette at 2redbanana's . She has made a great sketch for use, plus the DT at 2redbananas are joining us. Please create a card/project with at lease one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image. Jeannet has a super cute Prize this week to one lucky House Mouse participant. See all the details here.

This image is a rak from Pat Smether's (one of the sweetest people I know). I water coloured the image with Stampin Up reinkers, clear embossed his eye, nose and pop can.

Hang in there

Happy Tuesday.... I created this card for today's challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers Colour challenge #CC222 - "WHITE" and only ONE layer. You could use different colours of ink. I received this adorable House Mouse stamp in the mail yesterday along with three other HM stamps I can't wait to use. The stamp is call "Signing A Card 02" the little fellas name is Muzzy. I stamped the image on whisper white and water coloured with Stampin Up reinkers. Next I dry embossed the image with a rectangle nestability. I drew the black lines to frame the image. The sentiment was stamped once on the base card and then again on a scrap piece of white. Coloured image, cut out and popped up. I did a wandering stitch twice around the card to give it some texture. Added the beautiful blue and green ribbon - and I'm done... Quick and Easy.

Recipe:

stamps: - House Mouse - Signing A card 02, Studio G - sentiment
paper: - Stampin Up - whisper white
ink: - stazon jet black, cameo coral, bashful blue, old olive, barley banana, apricot appeal, creamy caramel, bravo burgundy, basic grey, going grey

HM&F Colour Challenge - RED, WHITE & BLUE

Happy House Mouse Monday everyone. Over at HM&F, Stacy has issued us a colour challenge - to use , RED, WHITE and BLUE on our cards or projects. Just make sure to use at least one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image on your project.

Here is my take on the challenge.

The cute stamp I used is called "Oh Lucky Day" HMUR1017 - I received this adorable image from America (thanks America). This stamp is usually used for St. Patricks Day cards. I coloured the shamrocks red. Image is water coloured using Stampin Up reinkers. The little mouse is supposed to be waving a shamrock, but I replaced it with a computer generated American Flag. I cut out the flowers and mouse section (left off the shamrock he was waving) and placed it over a square that I sponged clouds onto. The flag is popped up. Matted image with navy and red. sewed edges. Main card is 5x5. I found the perfect r/w/b star dp to use. Ran the lower blue panel through the CB with Swiss dot folder. Added the red, white and blue ribbon. Sewed edges. Attached the white star brads in three corners. Cut out the stars in blue and white with cuttlebug die and the circle with nestability. Pierced holes in the circles out edges, Popped up the star.

Below is a close up of the image panel..

The wonderful sketch I used is from Mojo Monday - sketch #89 - contest.

Tails of True Love - HM&F #40

Happy Monday everyone. Over at House Mouse & Friends Mary has challenged us to make a Wedding or Anniversary card, invitation, gift box - anything with that theme.
This week we are being sponsor by our very own Emma - her Store is called Sassy Crafts

below are the prizes she is offering

-above is Bartender Edwin
-below is Tilda on Promenade

Below is my take on the challenge...

First I want to thank Gwen Fisher (aka tturtle) for this adorable image. It is called "Tails of True Love" HMG1009. I water coloured the image with Stampin Up reinkers. Image and matting was cut out with plain and scalloped nestabilities. Main card is 5"x5" very vanilla. Next is antique rose, then chocolate chip. I ran the chocolate chip panel through the CB with the Swiss dot folder. I used the heart embossing folder on the pink pirouette panel, sponged edges with pretty in pink. The designer paper is from Heidi Grace designs - Cherish & Love. I thought it was the perfect choice for this card. I used my Stampin up scalloped border punch. Sewed edges. Attached the pink sheer ribbon and the little pink pearls (I bought these at the Dollar Store - 35 for $1.00 - awesome deal) . Finished the inside and I'm done. I am very happy with how this turned out.
Below is the inside of my card. Haven't decided on a sentiment yet.

Here is a close up of the card - different angle.

Now it's your turn. Please check out the DT's cards and blogs for some inspiration. Make sure to upload your card on House Mouse & Friends and leave a comment... Happy Stamping.
