Totally Stampalicious - Movie Theme

Happy Monday everyone... it is time for another Totally Stampalicous challenge. This week we are to be inspired by a Movie or TV show - Title, theme etc., Thanks Stacy (aka Twinshappy) for the challenge.
My card was inspired by the movie "Wild Hogs". A group of middle aged men who have decided to rev up their routine suburan lives with a freewheeling motorcycle trip. Below is the patch used in the movie.

I used the TS "Road Hawg" stamp to make my card. Image was coloured with prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol. I painted the panel behind the image with Acrylic paints - I tryed to make it look like the Designer Paper. Image was cut out and popped up.

Please make sure to check out what the other talented Totally Stampalicious DT members have come up with to inspire you. I hope you will join us in our challenge.

Happy stamping and creating,

Hugs... Pat

Bon Voyage

Happy Sunday everyone... Here is a card I made for House Mouse and Friends challenge #70 -
"Goodbye/Farewell" and their very first Blog Hop. This is also made for today's featured stamper challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. Emily (aka "scoopy") is being honoured - Here is the cute card I cased "Little Bunny".

The adorable House Mouse image I used is called "Together Under the Moon". I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx black ink, heat set and then coloured image with markers and reinkers. Clear embossed the image, sponged on the ground and sky. I stamped the River Rock background (Stampin Up - Inspired by Nature) with Versamark ink and clear embossed. Image and matting were cut out with Nestabilities.

Art of life painting

Just wanted to share this with you. I made this earlier in the week for three challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers. Queen for the Day - honouring Grace (aka scrappigramma2), Ways to use it - paints and Free 4 All - something you collect - but it could not be anything to do with stamping. Here is the card of Grace's that I cased "SC177 Art of Life". I coloured the back of my stamp with Acrylic paints and stamped onto Linen Paper. When image was dry, I punched out the two corners. Matted image with Always artichoke and black card stock, attached the ribbon and sewed edges. Punched out the butterflies, once with red card stock and then from vellum. Glued butterflies together and added white liquid pearls to the body. Made base card panel, assembled card...

Stamped the sentiment on Kraft using chocolate chip ink. Punched out sentiment with oval punch. Distressed and sewed all edges. Image panel is popped up. The flowers are from Inkadinkado - Garden Delight and the sentiment is from Stampin Up - Fresh Cuts.

A little black magic

Happy Tuesday.... here are two cards I made yesterday for the Splitcoast Stampers Technique Challenge - to use a technique called "Black Magic". Here is an excellent tutorial by Wendy Wixler on how to do the "Black Magic" technique.
I really love how both of these cards turned out. The first card I made is the one with the little picket fence. First I stamped Stampin Up Craft white ink onto black card stock. Next I coloured the flowers with Water colour pencil crayons. I used three different shades of yellows and three different shades of orange. Starting with the lightest colour in the middle and then next darkest and darkest at the outer edges of the flowers. I used two different shades of green on the leaves.
Next I punched out the fence (Martha Stewart - border punch), sponged the top of the pickets with Really rust. Matted the image with a textured rust card stock and black. Did a wandering stitching around the edges - using black thread. Punched out the mini butterflies, sponged wings with really rust. Glued butterflies on card and dotted White liquid pearls to wings. Image panel is popped up. Sponged edges of base card.

For the top card - I coloured the flowers using Prisma colour pencil crayons instead of using water colour pencil. I used two different shades of each colour instead of three. Matted image with Burgundy and black card stock. I used the picket fence punch on the top and bottom of the black c/s - you can just see the top of the picket fence showing. I cut a 2" square of burgundy- cut this in half to make the rectangles underneath the image panel. Assembled image panel and sewed edges. Attached the black brads to burgundy triangle. Base card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 white card stock. For the base panel - I cut a 5 1/4" square of houndstooth and polka dot dp. Cut the square in half (triangle) - then using only one triangle of each dp I cut them in 1/2 again (triangle). Placed the 4 triangles onto black card stock and layered a 5 1/4" square piece of vellum over top. Sewed edges. Made the ribbon and bow embellishment - sewed it to base card. Both panels are popped up.
