House Mouse Christmas Tag

Happy Tuesday everyone.... I managed to combine three challenges in this adorable tag...
Today's colour challenge at Splitcoast Stampers - CC238 - pretty in pink, going gray and sage shadow... Two technique challenges TLC239 - make your own layered buttons and TLC240 - Foil embossing.
This cute little House Mouse image is called "Santa's Little Helper". I coloured it with prismacolour pencil crayons and also water coloured part of it. Fun flocked the hat brim and pom pom. Matted image with pink. Made the layered button, drew and cut out the tree - then embossed it. I have some large chip board tags - I traced around it onto white card stock and cut it out - then layered some tin foil over the white c/s and wrapped it around the edges, ran it through the cuttlebug with snow flake folder. Assembled the tag - sewed on the HM image and button. Punched out the top hole and a smaller hole on the top of the tree. Attached the star eyelet. Glued the white/foil tag over the chipboard tag. Attached the large eyelet - coloured the eyelet with silver metallic pen. Tied on the pink ribbon and silver cording..

House Mouse Challenge #53 - use buttons

Happy Monday to all you House Mouse Lovers..... Today's challenge over at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Blog was issued by Me - Use buttons on your card or project - just make sure you use at least one House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image.

Here is my take on the project.

Below is the inside of my card.

I stamped this adorable House Mouse image "Feathered Friends" on Stampin Up whisper white with Stazon Jet Black. Coloured image with Prismacolour pencil crayons, gamsol and blending stumps. Masked the image and sponged on the clouds ( I used a scalloped oval and sponged around edges randomly to make the clouds). Clear embossed the birds beaks, party hat beak and all eyes. Matted image with SU Not Quite Navy and Kraft, sewed edges. Base card is 5 1/2 x 6 3/4 - Kraft. The Leaf and gingham designer paper is from Recollecton's Autum pack - purchased at Michaels. I ran the center Kraft strip through the Cuttlebug with the Hounds tooth embossing folder. All panels matted with Not Quite Navy and edges sponged with Close to Cocoa. I cut out the blue NQN buttons with the Sizzix Buttons #5 die (Purchased through Stampin Up). I have put small buttons under the die cut buttons and sewed onto card.. I liked the look better when buttons were popped up. I used my Labels two Nestability to cut out the shape my "Friends Sentiment" is stamped on. Attached the feathers and finished the inside. House Mouse panel is popped up.

I used this weeks Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge # SC246, plus this also qualifies for this months Splitcoast Fan Club/Dirty Dozen - Winged things...

Recipe:

Stamps - House Mouse - Feathered Friends, Studio G - sentiment

Ink - stazon jet black, Stampin up - soft sky, taken with teal, close to cocoa

Paper - Kraft, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Recollections - Autumn Pack

Accessories - sewing machine, Cuttlebug, Sizzix buttons #5 die, feathers, buttons, pop dots, Prismacolor Pencil Crayons, gamsol, blending stumps, Labels 2 Nestability, Hounds Tooth embossing folder, piercing tool, sponge, heat gun, clear embossing powder

I coloured the image with Prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. Clear embossed the tank, light and fenders. Cut out image. I had this map designer paper that I thought worked well for this "Stair Step fold" card. I put the black strip of dp on each section and sewed down the center to make it look like a road. I stamped the sentiment on acetate using Stazon black ink. Sewed around edges and sponged on black ink. My Road Hawg is going on a motorcycle trip - cruising around Arizona and California.... How fun is that....
