A Visit From Santa

I am a little late uploading this card to my blog.... Life gets so busy sometimes....
I made this for Splitcoast Stampers Virtual Stamp Night challenge NOV10VSNA - challenge to make a Christmas card with Non traditional colours - no RED and no Greens... I used Kraft, Brown and Blues... I purchased this fabulous vintage Santa image from Inkadinkado at Michael's earlier this year for only $5.00 - how lucky was that!!!!!
Inked up the stamp with Stampin Up's basic brown ink, stamped onto water colour paper and then clear embossed. Only coloured his cheeks with Blush Blossom Marker. Matted image with Kraft and Not Quite Navy card stock. The Dp is from My Minds Eye - open sleigh. I crumpled up the Dp to distress it, matted it with Kraft and Not Quite Navy. Sponged and distressed all edges, Sewed edges of both panels. Tied ribbon around base panel, popped up Santa panel . I am really pleased with how this turned out..

I am also entering this into the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge #C4C63 - to make a Christmas card or project....

Thanks for stopping by,
Happy stamping and creating,

Hugs.. Pat

Friendship is knitted with Love

Happy Sunday everyone.... I'm a little late today with making my Featured Stamper card - it is one of my favourite challenges on Splitcoast Stampers.... My dear hubby and I were very happy to have our oldest granddaughter "Kayla" for a sleepover. Her Daddy and Mommy picked her up a little while ago...

Nicole Taylor aka "ButterflyEars" on Splitcoast is today's Featured Stamper. Here is the adorable House Mouse card "CAS31 Pop it Up" that I cased. I was also lucky enough to receive many House Mouse images and sentiments from Nicole - this is one that she sent me. Thank you so much Nicole... I am going to have so many hours of pleasure colouring those images.

Below is a close up of my adorable little mice. I coloured the mice with prismacolour pencil crayons and gamsol.. Cut out image, used my dry embossing tool to give the image dimension. Popped up image over base image. I had added some white flower soft to the bottom image, plus I clear embossed their eyes to darken them and give them some shine.
This card also qualifies for two more challenges on Splitcoast Stampers - Virtual Stamp Night - Winter Olympic Challenge - FEBVSNMINI3 - Red Mittens . Adelle's challenge was to make a card that includes the colours of red and white and wool or yard in honour of the mittens.
Plus Dawns challenge- FEBVSNMINI2 - Chill Out - we are to use white flower soft/tacky glue or embossing powder - (white, clear, glassy glaze) for snow or ice.
Recipe:
Stamps - House Mouse - Close Knit Friendship
Ink - black, ruby red
Paper - whisper white, ruby red
Accessories - sewing machine, prismacolour pencil crayons, gamsol, blending stumps, pop dots, glue, white flower soft, heat gun, clear embossing powder, embossing tool, sponge

A Christmas Postcard

Here is another card I made for the Splitcoast Stampers November VSN challenge - this one was "masking" and to make it a one layer card. I used the Tope Note die cut and placed it in the middle of my card and sponged around the edges to give it the red frame. Next I stamped on the reindeer. Masked the reindeer and stamped on the trees. Coloured the reindeer. Stamped on the Postage stamp. Applied white liquid applique for snow....

Recipe:

Stamps - Lovely as a tree, Winter Post, Magenta - reindeer
Paper - white
Ink - Riding hood red, creamy caramel, stazon jet black, old olive, black, chocolate chip
Accessories - Cuttlebug, Top Note, Liquid Applique, post it note, sponge, aquapainter.

Thanks for stopping by...

House Mouse - Merry Christmas

Happy Thursday.... I'm a little late uploading some of my cards... it's been a busy week for me.
I made this last weekend for the Splitcoast Stampers VSN November challenges. The challenge was to make an acetate stamped overlay. Something to enhance but not hide your image.
The adorable House Mouse image " Peppermint Pals" was coloured with prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. I stamped the sentiment "Merry Christmas" and the snowflakes using Stazon Cotton white. Attached with white mini brads.

Thanks for stopping in.

Hugs... Pat

My celebrity VSN Crush - Elvis You Rock

I made this card for the VSN challenge by Kelly aka schirmcat on SCS - Celebrity Crush. I have always loved Elvis Presley. When I saw Kelly's challenge I remembered I had received some postcards in the mail a few years back. So I started digging in my craft room.... finally located them and this is what I came up with. I was lucky that I had the perfect dp in my stash. The sentiment is from Studio G, my brads are from Stampin up.. Main card is basic gray, next black then the dp. Matted the image three times. Attached the sentiment with silver brad.

Virtual Stamp Night - Sing with me my Feathered Friend

I made this for the VSN Challenge by LuvLee - FEB09VSNR - to use feathers. My House Mouse image - Two Part Harmony was water coloured using Stampin Up reinkers. Matted with old olive and tempting turquoise, sponged edge. Added the rub on sentiment, sewed around the image, sewed the striped dp onto tempting turquoise plus the three different coloured FEATHERS. Popped up the image and I'm done. Another 45 minute card.

Virtual Stamp Night - A Cheesy Hello

I decided to do a little stamping after work tonight - I remembered it was the Virtual Stamp Night over on Split Coast Stampers. The challenge card I made was FEB09VSND "New Love" - to make a card with new items that you have received in the last two months or something that you have been hording and never used.
I also combined two other challenges in this card. This weeks ways to use it WT206 - use stripes
and the limited supply challenge LSC208 - use green, limited to two embellishments and limit the layers to only three.

I just received this cute House Mouse stamp in the mail today - how lucky was that (my DH purchased this for me on E-Bay). So I inked it up for my card - I also love taking pictures - so I felt this was the perfect stamp to use. Also, I just purchased my designer paper on Tuesday, the expoxy sentiment I received at Christmas time from my Mother-in-Law (Sharron).

I stamped the image with stazon timber brown on water colour paper and water coloured it with Stampin up reinkers. Cut image out with rectangle nestability, sponged edges with old olive and doodled frame with black marker. Main card is certainly celery, next is garden green, designer paper is double sided from My Minds Eye - Bloom and Grow - Vines. Punched rectangle slot in HM image with slot punch - tied on striped ribbon and heat curled. Added expoxy oval sentiment. This card did take me the full 45 minutes to make...
