A Heartfelt Thanks

A happy, snowy Wednesday to you. It's been a long time since I have posted anything on my Blog. I thought it was time that I did so. I made this Quilted Heart card for my mother-in-law "Sharron" as a Thank-you to her, for helping me finish my "Tyler Quilt". I have been working on this quilt for over two years now.
The sentiment is from Stampin-Up's "Quilt Quip" set. The faux stitched triangle and squares on the heart quilt are from Clear Dollar Stamps "Build a Quilt" set. I saw this gorgeous Scrap Quilt card by Lisa Lara and I new I wanted to purchase the Build a Quilt set.

I used this weeks colour challenge from Splitcoast Stampers as my colour combination (Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red and neutrals of choice -white, vanilla, brown or black)

CAS - Thinking of You (Spring CAS DT call)

There is a call out for the "Spring Clean and Simple (CAS) design team on Splitcoast Stampers". We were to pick two CAS challenge cards from Dec. 2009 until now, plus two CAS non CAS challenge cards and then pick one CAS previous challenge and make a new card. This is my new card.

I couldn't wait to use this set - this is what I came up with for my NEW CAS card. I use used the CAS26 challenge - to use stitching - real or faux. I stamped my images (first the jar, next the flowers and then the bee) onto water colour paper with Stazon Jet black, Coloured with markers and SU reinkers. Matted image with gingersnap and barely banana paper. Stamped the sentiment onto white panel, Matted with barely banana. Sewed all edges. Image panel is popped up. I'm So Happy .......

Happy Tuesday everyone.... I made this adorable Charlie Horse card, late last night... the Colour challenge at Splitcoast Stampers was up loaded early - so of COURSE I had to make a CC card before I could go to sleep. Colour challenge #CC227 ( lavender lace, black, white, going grey and barley banana). I just purchased this adorable Charlie Horse Image from Clear Dollar Stamps called "Charlie Daisy" and wanted to use it for today's Colour Challenge, I also Incorporated yesterday's technique challenge #TLC229 - faux grid and this weeks Our Creative Corner challenge - use pets or any other animal on your card/project. This is what I came up with... I so love this happy prancing "Appaloosa" Charlie....

I made the faux grid panel 4"x4". Stamped on Charlie, the larger daisies, the flying butterflies and clouds. I used my Zig marker to darken in the faux grid lines. Next I water coloured the barely banana squares with reinkers, the lavender squares and the butterflies with prisma colour pencil crayon and gamsol. Charlie is water coloured with basic black. I stamped on the black dots and used white gel pen for the white dots. The going gray dots that are at the bottom edge and stamped lighter over the rest - I used a stamp from Stampin Up's Itty Bitty set. Sponged edge with basic black. Matted with white, black and lavender lace. Sewed edges. Attached the ribbon and pewter sentiment slider. Main card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. I sewed 1/4" in on the Going Gray base card. Added the Diamond Stickles to the butterflies and the flower tops.
