Two embossed vellum cards

Hello again.... Here are two cards I made today using the technique challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers - we were to emboss vellum - dry or heat embossing.
On the card below - I used the Upsy Daisy stamp - I coloured the back of the stamp with Stampin Up markers and then spritzed water on the stamp - the stamped onto water colour paper. Matted the image with black and a square scalloped Old Olive mat. Used Martha Stewart fence border punch, sponged Really Rust on the top of the pickets. Attached my green ribbon and brad. My base card is 5"x%' white card stock. I ran a square piece of Vellum through the cuttlebug with the Floral Screen embossing folder and a sentiment border "With Love". Matted Vellum with Old Olive card stock. Sponged edges. Sewed edges. Attached butterfly brad and assembled card.
I cased this beautiful card of Cathleen Torina (ctorina) - she had the honor of being chose as Queen for the Day last week.

For the card below - I water coloured the Iris's with Stampin Up reinkers. The flowers are from a retired Stampin Up set "Long Stemmed Flowers". I cut out the image and the scalloped frame using Spellbinders. Pierced the scallops. I ran the orange and white Vellum through the Cuttlebug with the Textiles folder. I layered the white vellum over top of a panel of orange vellum. I cut a smaller piece of embossed orange vellum for the bottom section. Matted the vellum with chocolate chip. Placed the flower panel underneath the brown polka dot ribbon. Sewed the edges of the Vellum Panel and ribbon. Made the bow and attached. I stamped the "Mother" sentiment on white, cut out sentiment with Stampin Up's word window punch, sponged edges. Coloured a wooden tooth pick with Orange marker - attached sentiment with glue dot and attached to card. I thought it looked like a little plant marker.

CC216, TLC218, Happy Mother's Day

I combined two Splitcoast Stampers challenges for this card --- color challenge CC216 (black, real red and old olive) and the technique challenge TLC218 (marble technique).
I recieved this beautiful bird stamp from Pat Smethers - she had this love gift package for me and this stamp was it it.... Thanks Pat - hugs. I stamped image on water colour paper and coloured it with Stampin up reinkers. Cut out image with oval nestability and matted with black scalloped oval nesty. For the bg I used the marble technique - I used Adirondak alcohol ink - lettuce. Cuttle bugged the bg paper to give it more texture.. The gate fold card is 5 x 5. I cut a piece to 5 x 10, scored lines at 2 1/2 and 7 1/2. I cut up a scalloped circle to make the corners.

Happy stamping, thanks for stopping by.
hugs...
Pat

FS117, TLC219, CC217, OCCC, Happy Mother's Day

I made this card last week - I'm a little slow uploading it, have been fighting a cold all week...
I managed to combine four challenges in this card. From Splitcoast Stampers - last weeks Featured Stamper - FS117 - Sparkplug17, technique challenge #TLC219 - embossed wax paper resist, colour challenge #CC217 - garden green, cameo coral and ballet blue and Our Creative Corners challenge - make a Mother's Day card ( I gave this to Isabelle Graham - my Mother-in-law from my first marriage).
This is the card I cased from Sparkplug17's gallery. Here is the link for the Embossed wax paper resist technique information.
Thanks for stopping in...
hugs..

House Mouse Challenge #26 - Happy Mother's Day

Happy House Mouse Monday....

Today's House Mouse Challenge #26 is to make a card for a Mother. Mother's Day is approaching in (UK)- it can be for your Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Daughter, Friend for anyone who you think is a wonderful Mother.

I made this for one of my sisters and will have to make another similar one - two out of my three sister's are quilters. I felt by using this cute image it would make perfect Mother's Day cards for them.

Main image is from House Mouse Designs called Quilter's Guild, #hmpr1045 (starring Heckle, Mudpie, Monica, Muzzy, Amanda, Maxwell and Friend).
I stamped the image twice onto whisper white c/s using Stazon timber brown. Image was coloured with Prisma colour pencil crayons and gamsol. I cut out the six little quilters from one and popped it up. Sponged edge with pumpkin pie and matted with pumpkin pie.
Main card is 5" x 8 1/2" white c/s. Next is and unknown dp - I ran this through the cuttlebug using the swiss dot embossing folder. The flower panel is from My Minds Eye - Bloom and grow - it is double sided - the polka dot and little flowers shown. I used my Stampin Up scalloped border punch on the polka dot dp and photo corner punch. The flower panel is matted with pumpkin pie. I stitched around the edges and sewed square on the dp to look like the quilt they are making. Sewed around all edges. Tied on the gingham ribbon and flower and wheat stems. Stamped sentiment on whisper white in pumpkin pie, sponged edges. Main image is popped up.

If you can join us this week, please upload your card or project to the House Mouse Challenge Blog. Make sure you have a look at all the beautiful creations by the other design team members.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful Day.
